Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In mid July the temperature can reach 100 degrees as it almost did on the day we visited the Longmen Grottoes, but it was well worth it. We really enjoyed seeing these amazing cliffside sculptures right in front of us. The buddhas were carved into the cliffs over hundreds of centuries during several dynasties. There are little buddhas and giant buddhas. And across the river if a palace that is also a treasure.

I have visited the Longmen Grottoes with Group on Winter. The nature was very beautiful. You can walk near the river and it was excited to see Buddhist Temple on the mountains .Recommended to stay there up to 4 hrs and visiting Shaolin temple in the same day.

We booked a driver to take us from our Zhengzhou hotel to Shaolin Temple in the morning and then Longmen in the afternoon. This was our second trip to China, but this site has made it to some of our top spots there. The immensity of the carvings takes your breath away. I highly recommend a visit there.

I took my kids to Henan province in China for spring break. We enjoyed every other places we’ve been in Henan. My 11 years old was charged everywhere for half price. However, in LongMen cave, the locals changed the policy to charge all foreign kids over 10 years for full price. We tried to find out why, no one could give us a good answer. I wander if the Chinese kids over 10 should be charged for full price in Disney California. If not, why do they charge my kid for full price. I felt that my son very discriminated from being a foreign kid. I thought I should let everyone know.

Booked a tour through travelchinaguide.com to Visit the Longmen Grottoes & Shaolin Temple in Luoyang!! It was a wonderful tour!! James was our tour guide!! Our tour started with James meeting us at the train station in Luoyang!! There we went to see the Grottoes & then we asked James to take us to a restaurant we had been wanting to eat at while in China called Hot Pot!! Great recommendation!! Lunch was great!! James was a real gentlemen & was there for us every step of the way!! He even helped me up & down all the steps!! Can’t wait to come back to visit Luoyang & will definitely ask for James again! Will also recommend him to all my friends!!
