I hesitated for so long on whether or not the Capillas de Marmol would be worth the effort (4 hour drive one way, 2.5 hour flight, boat ride). But to be honest, all that effort was what made the experience so much sweeter. When you...More

You can take an overnight bus from El Chalten to Los Antiguos (8hr). From Los Antiguos you can get a taxi to the Argentinian border, but then will have to be prepared to walk up to 3hr to get across from the Argentinian border to Chile Chico. Alternatively if you are lucky you can try hitchhiking but as of April 2018 there were no official taxis or buses that would cross the border from Los Antiguos to Chile Chico. From Chile Chico you can take a 3.5hr bus to Puerto Rio Tranquilo, from where you can get a boat to see the Marble Caves and Capillas de Marmol.
