Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Before we visited the Shexian Tangyue Memorial Arches on 7 December 2014, we went to Xi Yuan Jing Qu. The lady tour guide enlightened us the life of an ancient rich family. The house was huge and had beautiful ancient architecture and carvings. We were told that the movie company also like to get the settings from here. The back garden was impressive. Then we moved on to Shexian Tangyue Memorial Arches. We had a lady tour guide to explain each of the seven memorial arches which the Chinese called them "Paifang". All stories were very interesting. The tickets that we bought could be used for two scenic spots, one The Shexian Tangyue Memorial Arches and the other was The Bao Family Garden. We continued our journey to The Bao Family Garden. This was a Bonsai garden. It was beautiful and peaceful. There were many flower trees, many pots of bonsai and beautiful ponds.

The seven large stone arches approach the old town that no longer exists. While traditionally a town would have one entrance arch, each of these seven commemorate or celebrate the lives of a noteworthy citizen recognised by the emperor of the time - 5 men and, unusually, two women.
While there, also see in the newer town, the two halls. one for men, and again exceptionally, one for women.
Lots of explanatory boards in English. There is an entrance fee.

A place full of Chinese history. Worth a visit if you're into that kind of things. I also went to the gardens that are just nearby.

The seven Archways in Tanguye are a unique type of memorial monuments of a specific period of Chinese history.
As such they are worth seeing not much else is there though.
