The Teramachi Street shops are outdoor, but covered from the elements. This makes it a great option with inclement weather. Additionally, virtually all the shops are of a Japanese origin, so the items are unique and local. If you're looking for unique items for souvenirs...More

Loved strolling through the Teramachi Market. There are a huge variety of shops both large and small. We had a fun afternoon of shopping.

Our Hotel was located in this area and it was the most convenient location one could ask for. The shops were good and there are plenty of stores selling all kinds of stuff. Has some beautiful small temples located in the area

Teramachi is a covered street, the same as Nishiki but it is wider and therefore feels a lot less crowded, even though there was lots of people. There are galleries, food, clothes, whatever you want it is here. I really liked this area - worth...More

I love this place. Teramachi Dori (Street) actually runs for miles north south in Kyoto, but the main shopping street is between Shijo and Sanjo Dori. This part is covered, and makes a relatively cool and dry place for exploring the many shopping delights of...More

If you are looking for all types of shopping then this is a great area. T street shopping arcade itself is fully covered as is Nishiki Market so no issues if it’s raining. Plenty of other shopping on the main streets that run parallel to...More

Most of the shops give you branded items in this street. All types of products available including the kimonos. If you are a brand freak, then this is the place for you to go.

We stayed for four nights in a hotel on this street so got to know the pedestrians-only thoroughfare well. Each side holds a variety of shops, including art galleries and fabric stores, and many places to eat. Though we tended to be elsewhere for our...More

Hi, we were perusing the many shops and I did see, but cannot offhand say where exactly it was now. The next door road mall also has a variety of clothing stores.

if you are referring to the time the stores open, generally at 9am - but the road stays busy until very late at night. with the many coffee shops etc.
