So many historical buildings to enjoy and this site was no exception. The site is not really disability friendly but if one is up to a little walking this is certainly worth visiting.

Its very big castle and it looks beautiful during Skura. I'd say that you should get there by 8:30-9 to avoid getting in the tourist queue which is the main downside. Main downside is that the interior of palace is stripped clean so when you...More

I came to Fushimi Momoyama Castle for the splendid view, it makes for a spectacle. There's no entry, so there's lot to do per se, but it's so peaceful and there's nothing in the way of crowds. Getting there from the station wasn't too much...More

Fushimi Momoyama Castle is closed to public, and the visitors can only take a look from outside. Although the building itself is not the original, it recalls the glory of the past time. The mausoleum of the emperor Kanmu is nearby. You can visit it...More

My father found this castle in his guidebook, which was apparently published just months after the park was closed in 2003. His book showed photos of a bustling, vibrant park, but when we got there, it was mostly empty. There was a Japanese family there...More

Is there anything more creepy than an abandoned theme park? I came at dawn, under a clouded sky. An old hunchbacked man was hobbling around in the park, whistling a sombre tune... “Castle Land” was a theme park in Kyoto’s Fushimi Ward but was shut...More

This is a magnificent castle and park. It's worth going to take some lovely pictures even though you can't go inside. Also you can see Emperor Meiji's tomb and the Nogi Shrine in the same park. You should definitely enter the park from the Momoyama...More

Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi
Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist
attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens,
