After the disappointment of Fukuoka Castle's Ruins, which they are, this proved quite a pleasant surprise - a leisurely stroll right through the middle of the Lake, admiring the wildfowl on the water, birds in the air, fish in the Lake, and people being silly in boats.

That Routing might prove challenging for anyone with Disabilities. There are a couple of footbridges which are quite steep and narrow. The Perimeter would be my commendation.

The park is huge, and a bit like the central park of Fukuoka. There is a lake where you can rent pedalos, there is a jogging track, a track for bikes, plenty of people walking, play grounds for kids etc.

Next to the park, there is a beautiful japanese garden (small entrance fee), which should not be missed.

This is a great city park that is just big enough to while away an hour or two strolling around the lake and over the islands. This appears to be a popular place to walk dogs and go running; I wish my own city had a park this nice. The lake has plenty of coy fish and water birds to enjoy. There is also a very nice Japanese garden just next door if you have the time.

Scenic, serene & definitely IG-worthy! It’s easy to access via the subway. You can just sit on one of the benches around the lake and enjoy the scenery. We saw some ducks, pigeons, fish and turtles as we crossed the beautiful bridge that led to a garden and a picturesque landing built on the lake. There were a few local bikers, joggers & tourists when we went there. It was worth spending the afternoon in Ohori Park.

It is a quiet park in downtown Fukuoka. The park surrounds a large lake, with a long island in the middle dividing it in half, with a bridge and walking path on top of it.

I thought it would be great to run or jog, take a lap around the lake, or buy a cup of coffee and take a dip.

A picturesque park to spend an hour or two. There is a small island and some bridges, so you can cross the lake in the middle of it. Lots of benches and toilets. If you feel like it you can even rent a paddle boat.

This is a park that represents Fukuoka, with a 1:1 ratio of locals to tourists. There are many people exercising and walking their dogs. There is one Starbucks, but it was so crowded that it took about an hour from ordering to receiving a drink even on a weekday. It's a good place to take a leisurely stroll.

The perfect spot to soak in the atmosphere of Fukuoka. Lots of locals jogging and strolling plus of course tourists like us enjoying the park’s atmosphere.
We visited the Art Museum and Japanese Gardens as well - a lovely way to spend part of a weekend in this pleasant city.

After visiting the Fukuoka Art Museum, the weather was nice so I took a walk in Ohori Park. The pond is so big that just walking around it is quite a workout. The view is great and it's an oasis in the city. The view from Starbucks is also great, it's the best place to relax. I wish I lived nearby! Maybe because it was Saturday, they were selling hot dogs and other snacks. There are both Western and Japanese restaurants so you can relax.

I have visited the park twice. Once on a guided bike tour, where we cycled around the water and stopped for a tea in the cafeteria to the south (&LOCALS Ohori Park Shop).
The next day I rented a bicycle and cycled through this large and beautiful park again. Then I stopped at the "Pinkberry" cafe for an iced latte.
Definitely worth visiting and relaxing during a busy city trip.
