We weren’t sure what to expect for our first ever cat cafe.

Easy to get to from Shinsaibashi Station using Osaka Metro.

The place deals in cash only! Be prepared to spend up to ¥3000 or more, if you stay for about 30 minutes.

There are rules to follow, read them carefully before you go in. The most important ones:
- no chasing cats
- no picking up cats
- no flash photography

You have to take off your shoes and leave them in an unlocked locker at the entrance foyer. Bags are stowed in a locked locker near the cashier. You hold the key and a paper, with a stamped time you came in.

There are drinks, which can be purchased from vending machines.

When we arrived all the cats were eagerly looking at the front door. We thought that was how they greeted everyone - wrong! The were waiting for food ... feeding time around 10.30am.

We expected the cats to be more extroverted and approachable, but they were more aloof and stereotypically behaved. We thought that at night they go home to their owners, but are kept in the back of the cafe, which could explain their behavioural traits.

The cats are groomed immaculately and the environment is very clean and relaxed.

Before we entered the cat cafe, we were told to remove our footwear, and were given a pair of sanitized slippers. We could select a drink from a huge variety (cold, hot, tea, coffee, vending machine etc) and drinks were free flow. After that, we could enter the area where the cats were mostly snoozing or disinterested, unless you bought some cat nibble along to bait them. Perhaps the cats need a break! It was clean, the toilet was clean and toys were provided.

There were many cats and they seemed well groomed. While we were there a member of staff was weighing each cat and checking on their health. That was great. On the flip side there were about 15 people in the room so it was rather crowded.

Another not so nice thing about our time there was that we entered as a group, and we were charged after the last person left, instead of an individual charge. I was slightly bored as the cats weren't too engaged with people, so I left the area about 20 mins earlier than the rest of my group. However, I was unable to make payment as the staff told me that I had to wait for the rest of my family. The total charge worked out to be about 75 USD per person. I do think that's rather crazy an amount to pay to see cats...

Perhaps what could have been better was to inform patrons by having half an hour reminders (a little bell?) or charging by 15 min blocks instead of per minute as that will be more reasonable a charge.

The cats are really adorable, well groomed and well behaved. The place is clean and I see the staff brushing the surfaces carefully within the one hour we are there.

It's a somewhat uncommon activity in between the shopping and restaurant visits. Animal lovers would have a great time.

The staff where nice, the cats were super nice and cute and loved to be pet. You could buy cat lollipops and give the cats a nice treat and have access to unlimited cold and hot refreshments. Overall really amazing time. 10/10

After checking off the owl cafe the day before, we headed for this cat cafe as it was on our kids' check list. Not difficult to find but it was quiet a different experience from the owl cafe. The pricing is relatively more expensive and it was charged in 10 min blocks. It comes with a drink but it was dispenser type in a small paper cup. The staff who briefed us on the do's and don'ts was not too friendly - perhaps because of the language maybe.

We had change out of our shoes and into the cafe's slippers, Put all our gear, bags and jackets into lockers. There were 6 of us and they only provided us with 2 lockers which was not sufficient. We asked for another locker and they took a while to respond after only seeing that the 6 of us can't get all our stuff into 2 lockers:(

Any way, the cats were great and we had much fun time with them - stroking them, taking pics with them. Animals are usually fine but its people (we included) that are 'Ngeow" - its a Hokkien dialect for "Cat" / Singlish term for being calculative, picky and simply plain difficult...LOL

You're asked to clean your hands and change into slippers, then you can enter the beautifully designed cat cafe. Calming music, (no young kids allowed) people enoying their coffees and soft drinks and lots of cats napping and playing.

Many reviews will say "all the cats were asleep or not interacting" - cats sleep around 16hours a day, so napping is very much in their nature.

Personally I loved it. It was so calming and soothing and the cats were just soooo cute, I loved every second! The cats were so precious and clearly very well taken care of. People were very respectful to the animals and the staff was very nice.

The only downside is that is is expensive. 200 yen for 10minutes and 350 yen for (unlimited) drinks. You could also buy different treats for your feline friends. So if you're not a cat-fan, it might be a waste of time and money for you.

I was missing my kitties so badly I needed to visit a cat cafe while my girlfriends shopped, and this was the closest. The place was neat and clean with many perches and toys to stimulate the cats who were aplenty but they were all napping or simply not engaging. There was just me and two other people who were petting a cat between them. I went around saying hello to all the cats, petting them as I went but did not meet one that welcomed my attention. So I finished my cup of tea and left. But what disappointed me more was the price--I was charged Y1080 for 25 min of basically just looking at sleepy sedate cats. I could have done that with my computer for free! Oh well, my spirits were lifted some by petting them cats but I wouldn't go there again.

I liked the decor of the cafe and the cats are very friendly. However the price was too high in my opinion. It was 200 yen per 10 minutes and 350 yen for all you can drink. The drinks are all from a vending machine (i.e. coke, tea, coffee). It's easy to lose track of time, which is what I think they're banking on, and spend more than you intended to.
