Anything you could possibly need for a kitchen is here! Prices are quite good due to the wholesale nature of the area. There is a small supermarket that has rare foodstuffs from overseas. If you're a wannabe chef, this is the place for you.

It's easy to get lost in Osaka, so pay attention. I've shopped for ceramics at various locations in Japan, and there is one store here that is very good. The prices are good, and if you look around, you will find some very good pieces. To find this market place, I took the midosuji subway to Namba, got off at exit 1, entered the Takashimaya dept store and asked the tourist info center for directions. You exit the store (the store's Tiffany's is to the left), across you will see the 0101 building. Make a right and you will see a street and a Starbucks. Cross the street to the Starbucks and go into the alleyway, keeping Starbucks to your immediate right. You will come across a DVD store on your left, make an immediate right, walk about 100 feet, past the street hawkers, look up and you will see the Doguyasuji sign. Enter the alleyway. If you make a left, you will eventually see some ceramics stores, there are 2 stores to your right. Go into the second store. When you exit Doguyasuji, it's important that you backtrack precisely; otherwise, you will get lost. Everything starts to look the same in Osaka. BTW, there is a good bakery Peck's at Takashimaya, as well as various take out dishes. Also, the Namba Nankai railway station is right next to Takashimaya where you can catch a train to Kansai Airport.

A very interesting local shopping area focus in selling kitchen and home-ware, you can choose from kitchen ware for your home or professional restaurant, cafe equipment.
Average price is much cheaper then those from department and there are thousands of different variety to choose from.
Just a short walk (about 10 minutes) from Nankai Namba station via the east exit.

This place would be really cool if you were looking for Japanese cookware or knives. We simply went because we wanted to have a cultural experience. It was neat to see the fake food stores that are used at most restaurants and we bought some inexpensive but pretty chopsticks. If you have extra time, it would be worth going but if you only have a short time and aren't looking to bring back a bunch of kitchen supplies I wouldn't make it a priority.

Great great place! I'm not gonna go into details about how awesome this place is. That's already stated in other reviews.
BUT if you are pressed for time and still wanna make it to this place, please make sure you get the directions right. The place is in next to Namba centre which also has a lot of shops selling food and clothing and it was quite difficult to differentiate and orientate yourself with all the neon signboards competing for your attention.
This is the way we took from Nipponbashi Station (5-10 mins walk) to Sennichimae Doguyasuji
- use exit 2 of the station
- when you get onto the street level, turn right and walk straight for 2 traffic lights or intersections.
- cross the street to get to the opposite side where Namba centre is (there are two white/transparent dome shaped entrance covers) ; Sennichimae Doguyasuji is behind Namba centre and may not be visible from the street. So walk through Namba Centre and look straight towards the end to find the building/ structure front signage in black background with a big chinese character written in red.
There's a photo of the signage on tripadvisor and this really helped us pick out this place.

This is the place to go to if you want to buy cooking utensils, cutlery etc. We enjoyed looking around, however, as we didn't want to buy cooking stuff only looked for a short time.

We were wondering around Dotobori and just happen to end up here. A hidden gem, I would say. A short covered street selling lots and lots of cutlery, utensils, kitchen equipment and practically everything you need to fill up an empty kitchen or even start a restaurant. You will be spoilt for choice. Great place to get practical souvenirs for your mothers and aunts. Prices were reasonable given the good quality you get.
Do take note that most, if not all, shops closes at 5pm promptly. We were in the midst of choosing cutleries when the shop owner started rolling its shutters. But the polite Japanese never chases the customers away. We were just guilty to hold him up so we left, only to return the next day to finish our shopping.

Even if you are into cooking or not - you must go to Sennichimae Doguyasuji. It is a treat. Vast collections of everything that you will need in a kitchen. If you look around nicely you will find some pretty neat stuff at affordable prices to take back home.

Chance upon this street one day. I would suggest you start from the end where there's a shop called 'Bic Camera'. If you are coming from Namba train station, walk along Namba walk and exit B21. Head south and you would find many great places to eat, look for local produce. And there was a really impressive shop at the southern end that has everything you need to start a Japanese kitchen. Its easy to lose your way as there are many side streets that look equally exciting. Good for 1-2 hour stroll.

We love Japanese food, and this is a great place to get some cheap tableware to take back home with you. Most shops pack the stuff up really nicely for you, but some you had to do it yourself, however newspaper and tape was provided. We brought loads here and they offer a full range of cooking equipment as well as bowls, plates, cups and so on...You will love it if you like to cook different cuisines and make them authentic. We brought so much stuff we had to post a box back to the UK with the stuff in it!! Cheap and beautiful stuff - well worth the visit!!
