Not the original one, but amazing!
Mar 2021
For those who are unfamiliar, Japanese castles are often reconstructions of the original ones, which often got lost in bombings, fires and earthquakes. The Osaka Castle nowadays is a bit too much touristic, but still has its charm. As a romantic girl I love to imagine an handsome samurai looking at me and smiling while strolling among the gardens!

Beautiful castle and surroundings. I was not able to enter the castle tower due to covid restrictions but enjoyed the variety of things to do and see within the castle walls and in the gardens.

Words can not describe the awe fo this place. You can either walk or take a guided tram to the castle.
They have a lot of picturesque areas that my phone album was full. At the base of the castle courtyard they have food and beverage stands for visitors. I enjoyed a sakura champagne with friends as it was cherry blossom season. Beautiful place and must recommend!

Quick visit to Osaka Castle
Feb 2020
As we were about to leave Osaka, I hopped in a cab and did a quick trip to Osaka Castle. Really awe-inspiring sight. I climbed all the stairs and had a look around the interior and was impressed with the history and story-telling in the castle. Once on the top level I took in the views of Osaka. I had a really good, quick experience. If you want to hit a castle in Japan and have limited time, I highly recommend this one.

impressive Castle Seen from A Far
Jan 2020
Stunning view of the castle that can be seen from a far!
The castle is surrounded by lake or mout, which is quite impressive and traditional use by old ancient empire.
There is an entrance fee to get inside the castle., which we opted out.
For us walking along the park is great enough experience.

The castle is grand from the outside.
Nov 2019
I was expecting to see the grand hall where the emperor is seated and thousands of soldiers are seated on the floor. I was very disappointed. It's only $5 or $6 to go in to see pictures and videos of the old, floor after floor. You don't get to see the grand hall because it is walled off or closed to traffic.

Hello everyone, do you know if there is any way to buy the tickets for the Osaka castle and museum online in order to avoid queuing? If not, do you think we will face massive queues (we will be there on August, 21st)? Thanks in advance!

I wouldn’t worry about buying advance tickets. As others have said, the line moves quickly. The real queue is waiting after you’ve passed the tickets area to go up the elevator.

Are you able to take photos of the castle or grounds without paying the admission fee? Do they accept credit card/Icoca card as a form of payment?

Yes you can access the castle grounds free of charge. That's what I did! But you need to pay for admission into the castle, which might be worth it for the panoramic views.

I have visited the Castle several times and always closes at 5pm so, if you arrive at 4pm you would have enough time. It opens at 9am.

Does the 600 yen cover the whole castle, park, and gardens? What is the Osaka pass?
Lonngren
Busan, South Korea26 contributions
Yes, the 600 yen covers everything. The Osaka pass is a pass that gets you into the main tourist attractions in Osaka for a lot cheaper than if you were to pay at each one of them separately. Worth getting if you're interested in going to at least 3 or 4 of the included sites.

Hi there! I will buy JR PASS to travel in Japan and my question is how can I go to Osaka Castle from KIX airport with JR PASS? Please tell me the easiest and shortest way with the simplest explanations. Thanks in advance :)

Hello Zehra
Yes I would visit the shine while you are there. If you have time visit the restaurants and tourist shops across the park from the castle. It gets busy but there are places to sit.
If you have more time in Osaka you must visit Dotonbori you will have a wonderful food and people experience.
Enjoy yourself in Osaka
