We went to watch the world cup qualifier between Australia and Nippon.
The stadium is a serious distance from the train station...why?
The home fans were impressive.
But overall a great stadium with excellent amenities.
Went to see Australia v Japan World Cup game. Stadium itself was great but couldn't understand why they food was cold. With about 4000 Australian supporters at the game the French fries, chicken skewers and most of the food was cold. Tried hot pepper steak...More
Went to Saitama for sellout match between Japanese National Team and Australian Socceroos.
Long but easy walk from closest station, so allow time for this. Ticket collection and access was very easy. Food inside is average (and cold) - would recommend eating from the mass...More
Wow feeling. Goosebumps all the time. Urawa Reds' fans are awesome, chanting from the start until the end. Watched the crucial last game of the season where Urawa Reds tied Yokohama Marinos. Reds won the season title after this game.
Won 4-0 against Gamba, so the atmosphere was quite good.^^
A lot of things to do/eat around the stadium while I was waiting for the kickoff. I wouldn't take the bus next time, especially the bus back... Arriving by train is better, even though you...More
Definitely a must visit if you're a football fan - state of the art stadium; definitely worth a half-day trip out to catch a local J1-League game. Home of the Urawa Red Diamonds since 2004, stadium was built in 2002 for the World Cup when...More
5 goals in an exciting game. FC Tokyo up 2-0 at half time and Urawa Reds fought back for a 3-2 win. 2900 yen for unreserved seat behind the goal. FC Tokyo fans sang a version of "You'll Never Walk Alone" before the start. I...More
I was there for the All Japan High School Tournament finals on Jan 10th and it was a really great experience in a world class stadium. As its the winter it does get quite windy so rug out if you are going in the winter.
In May, I visited with my friend, a football match between Urawa Red Diamond and the FC Tokyo in Saitama Stadium 2002. It was an unforgettable beautiful experience. This was also the fact that our team of Saitama won with 4: 1 goals. Compared to...More
