The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's also a downtown area with shops that were founded over a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza. It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels, world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular with anyone looking for a night out.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful building and not a bad walk from Tokyo Station. We specifically appreciated it because we were hiding from the rain and it has a number of shops inside. It was being set up for a big expo, and I'm sure it would be a great expo building. As a tourist attraction I would only do a quick stop to look at the impressive architecture, maybe grab a quick coffee and go, if it's on your way.

The Tokyo International Forum truly is a photography wonderland. Head into the main building and take the elevator to the 7th floor. There are so many cool angles to shoot in this architectural accomplishment.

I have to stop here every time I'm in Tokyo, as the light and shadows dance off the surfaces depending on the time of day and the weather conditions.

The rest of the building is a convention hall, and while I'm sure some cool things happen here, the top floor is where you want to be.

You could spend a considerable amount of time here, just wandering around the top floors trying to figure out where the best shots are taken. If you look at my photos though, you can get some hints!

An impressive architectural structure.
Enter to admire the structure and continue to the palace or to the stadium

If you love architecture, this is a perfect place. Dashing into the building from the bustling streets outside, I stopped for a minute because I was immensely dazzled by look of the building. The structure of the building, the lighting system, the materials used to erect the building and the colours…all of them conjure up an image of a modern ship made of glass (plus metal). I like the fact that the interior of the building gets a lot of natural light on a massive surface of glass. It is a great place to take pictures, my colleagues couldn’t get their hands off their DSLR cameras. I personally love the little shops along the side of the building across a garden. I was pleased with the souvenirs I bought at a shop there after having some nice coffee. Japanese people do know how to make things so elegant-looking.

It's smack in the middle of an office district and the main purpose of this building is for exhibitions. Although the architecture is fairly impressive not much to see here. However, the building takes up a lot of land and has lots of open space where anyone can stroll. During the week at lunchtime the courtyard is covered with food trucks and business men and women flock to this place for quick cheap eats. On some weekends there are open-air antique markets going on which is quite fun.

I have just spent four days attending an international conference at this venue. While it is architecturally aesthetically impressive I have had a very frustrating and at times stressful four days trying to navigate around this building. The internal layout is a maze of tunnels and stairs which are badly signed and lack comprehension. The building and rooms are organised in columns and not the usual rows. The cross over walkways further complicates navigation. As a conference venue it has a perfect location, so close to nearby Metro and central Tokyo. Unfortunately the lack of functionality for purpose as a conference venue leads me to rate it so low. I have walked no less than 5 miles a day inside this building ( good for my health but very tiring), and got lost several times and missed sessions. The pluses are it is immaculately clean and has excellent wash rooms and a variety of meeting rooms. I really don't understand what the architects were thinking as the exterior is impressive and the structure offers some majestic photo opportunities. Unfortunately there is a lack of fit for purpose as a conference venue. Certainly worth looking at from the out side, but you will need a nav man to find your way around once you enter.

Modern building with good access to train. Went to a short (45 minutes) concert in the huge concert hall. It was quite an experience.

I just walked through this place on my way to go to Ginza from Tokyo station. The design of the architecture was amazing and spent about 20 minutes for taking some photos.

No doubt splendid when illuminated by night, but during the day it's just a series of convention halls grouped together. With essentially not much going on when we visited, it was hardly worth a visit.
