Neighbourhood: Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Empire State Building wanna be, but it is charming in it's own way. How about the night time lighting? Don't go too late, as the upper lights go off. Great beacon as to where the heck you are when you get out of the Shinjuku Rail Station. Lots of great eats within 3 minutes of the building.

This buidling has something special. It really stands out in the Tokyo skyline. I personally think this is because of its architectual style, which is not typical Japanese but more towards USA style.

Beautifully lit at night. This buildings unusual architecture certainly stands out in the Shinjuku night sky.

The NTT DoCoMo Yoyogi Building was one of the landmarks shown in the animation 'Your Name'. I saw the anime and went around Tokyo looking for these landmarks.

AVOID NTT Docomo bike rental Service at all costs.
- the super high tech bike might simply stop working and can't be unlocked anymore ("broken" appears on the screen)
- the 24h customer service is unresponsive / does not pick up the phone
- it leaves uncertainty whether the credit card now will be charged or not
Absolute worst tourist experience and waste of money and precious time.

This building is the highest one in the shinjuku area.
It looks like a little bit like the empire state building. Finally this building seems a little bit old.

a japanese attempt to copy the empire state building, looks good from afar (eg. from the shinjuku gyoen gardens). it's an office building i doubt they let unauthorized people into the building.

Why build a Lego-esque imitation of the Empire State Building? Why build a shopping mall near it called "Times Square," apropos of nothing (nothing to do even with the Japan Times, nor is it a square)? Why model City Hall on Notre Dame? These buildings are neither attractive nor thought-provoking. They are the products of immature minds lacking imagination. I live in Tokyo and feel embarrassed for Japan when I see them.
