Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Guide Sona has been wonderful. And the day trip has been most productive and leisurely. Scenic places and very worthwhile.

The tour leader was very clear in her instructions and she tried her best to speak in English so that non-Japanese guests can understand what's going on. She also made sure that the bus moved off on time after a stopover at each place. We also had ample time at each place to explore. It was at a comfortable pace and the tour is definitely value for money! Thank you!

Hi, thank you for the comment! We hope you had time chiling out during the tour while seeing the blooming flowers at its season. Glad to know our tour guide was helpful, and we will keep improving language support so as oversea guests can have a more relaxing and smooth trip experience in terms of mutual communication. Kind regards, T&C

Guide was informative and cheerful. Timings for shows in the zoo were clearly stated. The illumination was absolutely beautiful but do layer up because the temperatures at the blue pond and shirihage waterfalls are freezing. Definitely easier to get to the places using a tour bus.

Hi, thank you for the comment! We are glad you joined this tour and had a good time hopefully! It could be fun to spend such a day in winter's Hokkaido, and to see it in a silver world. Yes weather at the moment can be cold around -5℃ to -10℃, so it is recommended to prepare winter gears for traveling in Hokkaido. Many thanks again for your feedback!

This is a return transportation with a Japanese guide from The Hokkaido Chuo Bus located at Esta building right next to the Sapporo Station. For me, it is a great and convenient way to specifically attend the venue which are only had a good view at night. Recommended...👍

Hi, thank you for the feedback for this tour. As you mentioned this tour mainly covers return transportation to see ice festival during evening. We are glad that you joined with us and got to see another fascinating landscape of Hokkaido's night and probably in the coldest time of year! Thank you for the time and best luck for future travels!

This tour was ok if you’re just looking for transportation to the lake for the winter festival. What they don’t mention in the listing is that this tour is in Japanese only. Several people on our bus weren’t aware of this - and we sat there bewildered as the tour guide spoke nonstop in Japanese to the handful of Japanese tourists on the bus. The tour guide was able to communicate the basics to the rest of us - when the bus would leave and that we had to pay $300 yen ($3 roughly) to get into the site. But nothing beyond that. So, if you’re just looking for transport, this does the trick. But if you want any additional perspective, look elsewhere.

Hi, thank you for the feedback about this tour, and stating the issue of guide language. This tour has only Japanese guide to accompany, and providing basic explanation for tour schedule as mentioned. There might be lack of detailed English guidance about the trip and place to visit, and we are very sorry for not being able to do so. For 300 yen entrance fee it is collected for the maintenance of the ice festival site and recommended but not mandatory. This tour mainly goes to Lake Shikotsu for the illumination for less than half a day, and we apologize if the tour was not as you expected. Hope you had enjoyed staying and traveling in Hokkaido. Thank you again for joining us!

I would rate it 10 if there’s such option. There is just so many things right about this tour. The multilingual audio guide was very informative. From the geographical details of the volcanoes and the history of the places and people, it made sure that noone was void of information regardless of language. The time allocated to each site was adequate and what I absolutely love was the option to soak in the outdoor onsen facing Lake Toya! The view was amazing! Lake Shikotsu is so vast and beautiful. The trip up the usuzan ropeway was also spectacular. Do take time to climb up to the crater where u will be wow-ed by the view of the pacific ocean as well. Definitely a highly recommended tour! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We visited the Asahiysma zoo. Our first time in a winter place and did not expect to see so many animals outdoor. A nicely designed zoo, worth the visit. We drove quite a distance finally reached the destination to see the Aoi-Ike Light up. The blue light for the pond was very nice but it wad too cold for us in the night. We reached there around 7.30pm.

Hi, thank you for the comment! We are glad to know this tour turned out to be fascinating for you, and hope you enjoyed it even though during cold weather. Temperature of Aoi-Ike area can be around -5℃ to -10℃ when it gets really cold! Please let us know if you need other information for the trip in the future. Asahiyama Zoo may not be as huge as you have imagined (we have got feedback from other travelers), but it is definitely a lovely place to make close encounter with animals, and be cheered up by their adorable gestures. Thank you for joining us and best wishes for future trips!

This company cancelled on me 2 days before my trip. i only have a 3 day visit to Sapporo and called up to tell me they are full and have to cancel my trip!
I paid SGD 106.70 and they only refunded me SGD 105.02. I reckon it could be due to the exchange rates.
Totally disarranged my short vacation!
So irresponsible.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. We are sorry not to be able to provide you with this tour. We re-confirm customers' booking after receiving instant booking, and for most cases spots can be secured no problem. Occasionally seats are sold out quickly and we follow up with customer to explain the situation, or with alternative options. If eventually nothing can be accomplished, we will have to cancel the tour and make refunds. Hope this clarifies the issue for you. Again thank you for choosing the tour with us, and for your kind understanding on the result.

The flowers were so beautiful! We tried the Lavendar ice cream - a different taste from the usual milk ice cream in Hokkaido and it's nice! The blue pond was a a rather small pond and it was very crowded with tourists taking photos but it was amazing to see the colour of the water change from green at one end to a sea of blue at the other end. It was beautiful! Worth going!

Great tour guide except she did not speak English. I am sure it is a great tour for the locals and those who understands the Japanese.
Trip to Mt. Asahidake was disappointing as the weather was bad with low clouds and crystallized snow. The visit to flower garden saved the day.

Hi thank you for contributing the review! Weather on Mt. Asahidake can be chilly, and we hope you kept warm while making the trip. This tour is not guided in English, so it may be not enough for non-Japanese speaking travelers. We hope to be able to provide more if possible but all English speaking guides for tours are difficult now. Thank you for the feedback! Best wishes for future travel!
