- JuliaNottingham, United Kingdom53 contributionsNice view, but was expecting moreIt has great view. Book in advance (at least day before or even before if you want to have time for sunset), it’s also cheaper. It’s more orientated towards Japanese, with carton characters for toddlers (at least during my visit), that everyone was taking pictures off. Limites info in English. Been to more impressive places. Lift ride is nothing special, unless you go on 2nd deck, then it has open view. But again they could made it more attractive with view above (there is only tiny square with nice view over your head. Glass floor is… well lets say was expecting more. Nothing to compare to Shanghais floor. Don’t misses stamp on 5F (souvenir shop at post box). Worth visiting? Yes. Allow 1 hVisited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 20 October 2023
- EmiAuckland, New Zealand13 contributionsFun, worth a visit.I had a lot of fun here. The views were amazing, I went around sunset and the sky was clear enough to see the sunset over Mt. Fuji which was beautiful. The stamp rally was fun although I didn't manage to find all the stamps the picture still looks pretty. The elevators are beautiful with each of the 4 displaying a different season.Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 6 November 2023
- Jerry MatternHarrisburg, Pennsylvania479 contributionsMake sure you check the weather;Visited here as part of a tour; unfortunately, it was cloudy and the views were zero, unless you like looking in the clouds. Probably would be better with less overcast. It can be a big crowd he and the cue to get to the top is a bit hectic. If you’ve been to one of the other tall buildings, I don’t think it be necessary to specifically come here but if you’re in the area, no reason not to stop in.Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 19 November 2023
- Pipsa850Oulu, Finland144 contributionsWorth to visitGood attraction place to visit in Tokyo. Surroundings are nice, there is whole shopping mall to explore and loth of japanese products there. View is amazing and while sightseeing you can see some japanese cartoon characters around the buildingVisited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 30 November 2023
- LindaHanc, France226 contributionsexcellentalthough we booked it was well organised. First stop 350metres. Great views all around Tower. we went down two floors and had drink in cafe. we paid extra to go to 450m the views the same were better and the glass floor. Well worth a visitVisited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 5 January 2024
- Emma CGodalming, United Kingdom3,052 contributionsGreat views, but packed to the raftersThis was my second time up the skytree. The first was when it first opened and advance bookings had to be made. Now you still need to "book" at a machine when you arrive but can basically go anytime you'd like. This is great since it allows flexibility, but I have to say that the place was absolutely packed, and perhaps they should go back to proper bookings and reduce the number of people allowed at any one time. The views are amazing and offer a real view of the scale of Tokyo. It's not cheap and definitely not worth going again and again, but it's definitely a good thing to do.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 January 2024
- Joseph C14 contributionsJapanese Eifel TowerExcellent. 2 Floors for viewing city, Got there just before sun down so got to see it lit up when we finished. Staff were friendly and helpful, but usual stuff with photos etc. Highly recommend and Senso-ji Temple is only a short walk awayVisited January 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 10 January 2024
- Glenn KBrisbane, Australia71 contributionsGreat Views of TokyoOnce you are at the top, you realise just how large Tokyo is. We went about 1 hr before sunset and, fortunately, saw Mt Fuji in all it's glory (which is not always the case). We stayed until it was fully night-time and then Tokyo really sparkled. It was quite busy but the queues to get to the top levels moved reasonably quicklyVisited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 February 2024
- Josh DNew York City, New York920 contributionsSky life!!I happen to enjoy tourist traps and when I’m in NYC I go to the NBC store all the time because I enjoy it!! I have heard getting trapped in an elevator or car is not fun but getting tourist trapped is!! I am in Tokyo and decided to be a foreign tourist and come here!! I think some crazy people think that the Skytree is a tree that you can climb and see planes and birds!! I went here after class one day and I enjoyed it!! I got grape ices from a vending machine and sat down and looked in stores!! I was too lazy to go to the top floor but I will probably do it one day!! It was very fun!!Visited January 2024Travelled soloWritten 9 February 2024

We arrived at the top to a complete white-out but fortunately the clouds parted somewhat to allow us to see the distant ground below. Yeah the views are cool and all but the wireless reception up top sucks so I had to wait over an hour to post my insta photos. There was a restaurant on another floor but the menu looked pricey so we decided to order uber eats instead and wait at the top. The place was packed with tourists and the delivery guy was stuck on the elevator for like twenty minutes, and my food was cold by the time it had gotten to us, so we demanded a refund.

There are two levels to this tower, one at 350m and one at 450m. Foreigners can pay extra and use the fast track line to the 350m level. Beware as there is no fast track from the 350 to 450 level. We were also told that we could not buy a ticket to get to the 450m level as it was too busy, we would have to buy a ticket at the 350m level and would depend on how busy it was. We would have had to wait in a queue for an hour at the 350m level to go up to the 450m level. There is no other option. We tried to get into the restaurant at the 350m level and were told it was fully booked. There were plenty of tables from what we could see. The person at the front desk was very rude n ushered us away very quickly. Booking essential. There is only one other place to eat n it’s a cafe like set up with very little selection of food available. Mainly snacks. View of Tokyo was amazing but really disappointed that we didn’t get to the 450m mark. A bit misleading re the fast track line. Probably not the best time of year to go as it was a public holiday.

This is a must to do Thing in Tokyo.
The view in clear weather is incredible.
Combo ticket 2 levels 3100 yen is reasonble- as an international traveller you can buy a skip the line ticket for 4000 yen. They Will advice you if you need to or not.
I spend my time there 16-18 so I got the city at day and night (dark)
The lift is super fast.. 600 meters pr minut (you can get up to Max 450 m)
Can be crowded at times - even in low season.

We made it to Tokyo Skytree just before sunset, and the colours were very beautiful over the city while the sun was setting. We did 350m only.
The tower from the bottom was amazing too, in the day and also at night.
The glass floor was quite scary for those with fear of heights, but seeing many jumping on the glass floor and it holding up, is rather assuring. We ended up taking a picture on the glass floor :)

I bought the 'skip the line' pass that is available to non-Japanese visitors, and it was worth it. There is a desk where you need to check in and then you're directed to the correct queue. The ticket I purchased included the 350th and 450th floors; go big or go home, I say. The ride up was fast and smooth. I went and night, and if I had the time, I would probably go during the day and at night. There are a couple of activities as you walk around, but I was mostly interested in just looking out over the city. There are gifts shops and a place to send postcards. I was impressed with the organization and how smoothly everything seemed to run, until you want to leave. Then it was total chaos (I would pay extra for a skip the line to get out); there may have been a few elbows thrown. There is also the glass floor that you can stand on and get your picture taken, but it's not until you're ready to leave, which did not help the process. Aside from that experience, I enjoyed the Skytree, and would have spent more time in the area. It was pretty easy to get to via train.

Skytree is not like normal observation tower. It has a few floors and each floor has different view and experience. Recommended to buy the expensive one to go to the top 450 floor as the experience is much better, although the price is not cheap. There are photo booth on every floor, and the upper one at floor 445 is better in my opinion. The spiral slope to walk up to floor 450 is interesting, there are a lot of Snoopy decoration when I visited.
You can spend 1-2 hours on skytree if you keep taking picture and queue for the photo booth.

I was at the Tokyo Skytree on 3 January 2020, lot of people. Suggest to purchase ticket before then You do not need to line up for purchase the ticket and it is a lot cheaper to purchase ticket online.
I was there at around 4 p.m., on a clear day and I can see nice scene of fuji mountain from the Tokyo Skytree, very impress. I was there for a sunset so I have both experience of daytime and nighttime view.
You can also see Tokyo tower from the Tokyo Skytree, especially during nighttime when the light on.

Went around 4pm in the afternoon and thought we had left it too late however it was actually the opposite. Queueing was minimal up to the various levels and the view was clear but the main added bonus was that we went to the restaurant to grab a drink and managed to experience the magical Tokyo skyline coming to life. Drinks were about the same as what you would pay in Australia but the views were amazing and this was one of the unexpected highlights of our trip.

Make sure to buy tix online at least one day before you go. The line was insane (1+ hr wait) when I visited. There’s a foreigner only quick line (10min wait) which offered tix at a higher price, but they ran out of the combo tix including top deck. If only I had booked tix online! It was half the price of a regular ticket when I checked.
It was worth it though. I recommend going to at least the 235m level for the panoramic view of Tokyo.

One of the things you must do when in Tokyo Japan. We bought tickets for both observatories and enjoyed the breathtaking view at night. Since I haven't been on Skytree during the day, I cannot say which is better. The night view was spectacular. Our visit was before the pandemic so masks and hand sanitizers were not requried.

Is it okay to show up late to the day of the booking example: ticket says 1:00pm but you show up at 3pm.
Written 24 April 2023
I think it’s not the worst if you would show up at 1:30pm but as soon as it’s 2pm or 3pm and not the original time range on your ticket they could maybe deny you entry. I think the japanese are super friendly though so maybe they’d let it slide for once! But try to be on time!

I read that attractions such as this are currently closed but I assume that is not thr case as people are still leaving reviews. What's it like to be a tourist in Japan at the moment? We are due to travel in mid-April. Are things open, can you move around freely? It's hard to tell from what I'm reading. Thanks

I would adopt a wait & see at the moment, we were there in December 2019 and didn't have a problem, I think the caronavirus will restrict a few things at the moment and they haven't cancelled the Olympics as yet

Hi,
Did someone already book entrance ticket via Tripadvisor?
Really surprised to see that fast lane tickets are:
4'200 JPY on official website
2'769 JPY via Tripadvisor
Just would like to ensure that I'm not missing something before buying.
Thanks.

Hi
I think it is not necessary to buy before. I don’t remember the amount, but I buy directly at the time of arríval, no problems and there were not many people at the entrance
Good luck

A vista é melhor do que a do Tokio City View Observation Deck - Ropponghills?

Bij helder weer kun je vanaf veel locaties Mount Fuji zien, maar feitelijk ligt deze te ver weg om het echt goed waar te nemen

What is the best time to go to Tokyo Skytree? Daytime or during the night?
Written 10 June 2018
We went later at night, around 8pm, and there were no crowds at all. The night views were breathtaking.
Written 10 December 2019
Once inside the observation deck, can we stay past 10pm (e.g., if we were able to go in only by 9pm) or will they force everyone to leave asap past 10pm?
Are there shops inside that are still open past midnight?
And are there locker rooms where we can leave our stuff?
Thanks
Written 25 May 2018
Hi, we went there during day time, I bring only my cellphone, camera and small travelling bag, I am not sure if they have a locker room. Also I ask if we can stay longer to see the beauty of Tokyo, according to the Observation Deck, There is no set time limit, but if it is crowded on the day of your visit the staff may have no choice but to ask you to limit of your visit. The Observation Deck is open from 8am to 10pm, for SKYTREE Tembo Deck last admission is 9pm and for SKYTREE Tembo Galeria is 9:30pm.
For the Café and Restaurant they are open til 11:00pm, but last order is 9:45pm.
Tembo Deck Floor 345-Hours: 11:00 – 23:00 (Last order 20:30)
Tembo Deck Floor 350-Hours: 8:00 – 21:45 (Last order 21:15)
