A little out of the way this is well worth the trip, as this monument honours all the Sherwood Foresters who have served and died in times of war. Windy and cold, with views from the top that show why it was located here originally.

You should be able to drive up here but for some reason it was closed so I had to park outside the gates and walk up the steep driveway to the beacon and memorial. The views are outstanding and you can see perhaps 4 counties....More

You can walk up here from the tramline end at the tramway village, which is only a little hike or access it further down for a stroll to it

Walked here from the tram stop at the museum and what a fitting place for a war momorial, just to sit and remember what these brave soles did for us all.
