Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Marks Park occupies an elevated headland between Bondi Beach and points south, and consequently offers grand, panoramic coastal and ocean views. The views from here really are something else. Back from the coastal path, the park offers shady trees plus an extensive area of grass that is protected from the winds that can sometimes whip through the area. There are benches, an exercise station, toilets and water is available. The park also has a very prominent role in the annual (though not 2020) Bondi Sculptures by the Sea exhibition.

Great overlook of all the beaches and sea. We even watched a school of porpoises swimming back and forth. Great place to sit was relax. The iceberg pool is not really part of it.

This is a large, open, flat grassy area along the Bondi coastal walk, half way between Bondi and Tamarama beaches.
It has an elevated position with stunning views of the rugged coastline and a panoramic outlook over over Bondi, Tamarama and Bronte beaches.
There are decent facilities here - a playground with sandy base, a new-ish toilet block, some large, scattered, shady trees, and some seating.
Dogs are allowed off-lead here but only from 4.30pm – 8.30am and not during the main part of the day.
A new addition to the park is a moving sculpture near the cliff edge, called ‘Rise’. It marks a very dark period in Sydney’s recent history when a spate of homophobic violence and hate crimes led to savage bashings and in some cases, the deaths of multiple men during the 1970s and up to the 1990s.
A highlight at Marks Park is the Sculpture By The Sea show which is held each year, usually in November. Many of the most spectacular sculptures are positioned in the park.

This flat area just off the cliffside walking path**++ midway between BONDI** and TAMARAMA** BEACHES has great views++ to north (BONDI BEACH etc), east, and south (to CAPE BANKS – BOTANY BAY’s northern headland). The park is approx 200m n/s X the same east west.
There is also a rest room area (remodelled recently)++, kids’ playground, seats and some trees for shade.
TIPS
- access from the cliffside walking path heading south from BONDI is on a set of steep stairs++ to the right about 5 minutes after starting the path immediately south of Sth Bondi’s ICEBERG CLUB++. These stairs are steep and the non-fit will need a rest. Heading north from TAMARAMA is a slightly easier slope up to the park – look for the stairs just past the exercise station++ abt 5mins into the walk.
Motorists may find parking spots in the streets immediately to the west, but vacant slots are variable and often scarce.
- when I last passed thru it was early morning 0730 and the park was busy with off-leash doggies doing their thing. Note that because of the kiddies’ playground, dogs are not permitted between 0830 – 1630.
I have traversed at many other times and noticed this is a popular kite/model glider flying area because of the good updrafts from the cliffs.
- between mid nov and mid dec the week long SCULPTURES BY THE SEA often has some displays in MARKS PARK. This has been mucked around by the pandemic.
MY RATING – this ain’t a great place park-facility-wise – seems a bit barren in the things you expect. But its excellent 300degree views lift it above the average suburban park. But not to an EXCELLENT level – the difficult climb up the stairs for people of average fitness precludes it from this highest rating.
- TA reviewers’ photos are well worth checking.

At this time of year, this park is full of sculptures. There is all sorts, some large, some small. It is quite busy with lots of people passing by. A nice open space on the coast.

The boys loved stopping at this small park on our coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee. There’s not a ton here like a playground but it’s a big green space to run and kick the footy.

This is a flat grassy park south of Bondi Beach and one of the few areas that have not been developed and provides good views north to Bondi and south along the coast to Coogee
