The volunteers go out of their way to make this an enjoyable trip for children and adults and the small children were enthralled to see Santa on the canal. Well worth the cost, particularly as all the funds raised go to preserving and restoring this historic venue.

My wife and I, plus another couple had a lovely night-time cruise on the canal last night. Apparently, this was the first time that the Trust had run a child-free Santa trip and it all seemed to go very well indeed. (I have been on the child-friendly Santa trips and was unsure what to expect.) The snacks were fine and... More

Parked in the Onslow Arms overflow car park & had a lovely walk along the canal & the adjoining countryside. The canal trust are doing a fabulous job of bringing the canal back to how it was. They are looking at getting all 23 miles up to scratch. We have taken our grandchildren on a Father Christmas canal cruise which... More

Very pleasant evening trip on a quiet electric canal boat on a rescued waterway winding through the lovely Sussex countryside. Nice food provided and friendly volunteer staff looking after us. So nice and relaxing.

Had a very pleasant 3 hours on the Zachariah Keppel, took our own "posh picnic" and drinks. The crew were very chatty, helpful and informative. Looking at a narrow boat holiday next year.

This was a lovely little trip on the canal and through the locks. The people running it were lovely and the availability of tea and coffee etc was very welcome.

this trip has to be by far the worse trip Iv ever been on,the boat was a floating box with a point at the end, lots of rules about safety non which were kept,no history commentary, windows small and high,so if your not six foot tall, you can't see out sitting down, spent most of the time still while we went through locks, just totally... We regret that you did not enjoy your boat trip. A narrowboat is narrow and like most boats, has a pointed bow. We have to operate to MCA regulations, we have checked with the skipper of the day, who confirms that the trip was operated in a proper manner. Your trip was a private charter and your organiser did not... More
