We went for an early morning walk from our nearby Airbnb and were very pleasantly surprised by the size of the gardens for a small township. There were plenty of different trails to follow and lots of plant varieties that were well sign-posted. It was fairly empty first thing in the morning and there were plenty of places to stop for a picnic or to read a book or get lost in thought. The gardens were very well kept and beautiful.

We had a delightful day with a few friends on Friday at the gardens. The large gazebo was perfect for our picnic lunch with clean well placed tables and seating. A few young families were taking advantage of the gentle sloping grass verges with young mums and dads enjoying time with their little ones. I didn't get to walk the whole of the gardens, due to the fact it was rather warm and my old legs are not what they used to be. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the day even though flowers at this time of year are a bit scarce. Lots of nice shady spots to rest along the way. They certainly do a great job maintaining the gardens and surrounds. They have created a 'jewel in the crown' at Tambourine and even though we had visited before, we didn't tire of seeing the gardens in a different season. Beautifully presented and so good if you just want to find a quiet corner to sit and unwind.

If you're in Mt Tamborine a stroll around these lovely little gardens is a must. It was sunny but cool under the trees the day we visited and there were a surpising number of people enjoying the serene environment. An hour is more than enough.

We had a nice time walking around the gardens. There was no entry fee just a gold coin donation. Plenty of area to have a picnic or just take a nice walk around the gardens. It’s just outside of town.

It's a very beautiful place. Different garden themes, plenty of lawns to get comfy, a lot of seating Pavillons to enjoy the stunning views. Worth the entry cost.
Plenty of birds and butterflies.
I appreciated the possibility of ,golf buggies, to drive through the gardens for elderly people or people, who can't walk longer distances, but I am not a fan of constantly bumping into them, when enjoying the gardens, so hopefully numbers are capped.
We opted not to go into the bird park. It is big and seems to cater for their needs, but I saw from a distance, the big parrots just flying back and forth over and over again and I don't think it does them justice. I personally found it off-putting.

Hi konstanzes, thank you so much for your kind review. We don't have a bird park within the Gardens and agree any effort to cage these beautiful creatures can be fraught. Glad you enjoyed the Gardens.

Thank you for your wonderful comments Chillylin and for your five-star rating. Our volunteers truly appreciate this. The rains of a few weeks ago certainly refreshed the Gardens, but we do need more to bring the entire region alive again.

This is a well ornamented and exquisite botanic garden with a decent variety of trails and some topography. It's decent and complimentary, though is diminutive compared to other larger botanic gardens in Queensland (i.e., the Brisbane Botanic Garden) and is not as pulchritudinous. Overall, however, it's still a nice place to spend around an hour.

A great botanic gardens. Presentation is superb with well laid out walking routes and good labelling. The gardens are maintained to a high standard, Th gardens volunteers do a great job in making this garden a top attraction for Tamborine Mountain for gardeners and tourists alike.

Enjoyed this lovely environment at the end of a busy walking day. Perfect way to finish an active day. Particularly loved the rainforest walk and the camellia garden. Also, the contemplative spaces in the Japanese garden were delightful

Hi Christine, Thanks so much for your wonderful review. We are glad you enjoyed the Gardens so much. You might like to know this week we officially opened a new contemplation site below the Japanese Garden, right beside the creek. Come back soon and see all of the exciting developments we are working on.

Yes almost everywhere has tarred pathways.
The exception is the sooty owl walk which has 2 series of 3 steps each which people sometimes manage to lift prams over that. The other area is the rainforest walk which is quite steep with big steps.
Still plenty of lovely areas to see around the gardens. Enjoy your visit.

Please improve signage to the gardens.
I have just driven around the mountain, followed signs that then disappeared. and not found you.

The gardens are amazing and created and maintained by volunteers to a very high standard. They are located in Forsythia Drive off Long Road, north end, (Long Rd is where Gallery Walk is located). Well worth a visit!

Are any of the garden paths suitable for an elderly person on a small mobility scooter?
Written 5 April 2015
Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Botanic Gardens. Mobility Scooters will be able to get around most of the Gardens. The are Disabled Parking spaces near the entrance and from there you will be able to drive to most parts of the Gardens. The only place that would not be suitable is the rainforest walk, but this is closed for refurbishment at present.
I hope you enjoy your visit to the Gardens.
Regards, the General Manager.

Thank you for your enquiry. Sadly we do not allow dogs in the Gardens, either on a leash or being carried. I am sorry about this but we have had problems in the past and it is with regret that we have to have rules such as this.
I hope you are still able to vist the Gardens and enjoy them.
Kind regards, General Manager
