Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very small beach made of only pebbles. Even in water pebbles for about 10meters, after turn rocks, but where you do not touch. Car parking present and free. Arrived at the beach at 8:30. Deserted beach. Umbrellas and sunbeds empty. There is no lifeguard. You can occupy sunbeds and umbrellas at will. At 10:00 a lifeguard arrives to collect 25€ for 1 umbrella and 2 sunbeds. Price more than fair. There are only 2 rows of umbrellas.
At 11:00 people flock to the beach for more than twice the capacity of the beach. Crystal clear sea of the early morning, becomes cloudy. People plant umbrellas everywhere and the situation becomes unmanageable.
There's no wind and at 1:30 I left.
You can enter the water even barefoot, but we recommend shoes

Saturday 31st July and we visited this beach which is situated 30 kilometres north of Zakynthos Town and lies between Agios Nikolaos and Xigia Beach.
The main purpose of our visit was it was the departure point for our Shipwreck Boat Tour, we boarded the boat here.
As we arrived early we had about half an hour to explore the beach.
A small pebbled beach that sits on a small cove flanked on either side by a rocky and craggy headland with a mountainous backdrop.
When we visited it was practically deserted with just a few people down the far end of the beach. There were some, not too many, umbrellas and sunbeds available for hire.
There was plenty of space along the beach to spread out towels and beach mats.
Pedalos were also there to hire.
There is a Taverna across the road and up a small hill.
We boarded our boat from a small pontoon, as our boat sailed away from the beach it was an opportunity to see headland and rugged coastline.
What a difference a few hours makes, on our return coach journey we drove past here and it was rather busy. We definitely saw it at it’s best early morning.

Beautiful rocky beach and a great service for setting up the umbrella. An umbrella alone costs five euros and is set up by Strand employees for one. Two beds and an umbrella cost 25 € all day. We chose the umbrella and were totally happy that we had shades. Even if very busy in high season it was a pleasant bathing experience. you can park up on the road for free. The water is very clear and turquoise. You can even go a bit into the rocks on the right side.

The see is indeed exceptional but amenities are very poor: umbrellas very small, not proper for spending shadow. Maybe the period we visited this beach was also not the best one - July, but it was so crowdy we simply couldn't enjoy it. So, my recommendation would be to visit the beach just as long as you take a bath and before 10:00.

We came to the beach space for ordinary swimmers almost at all. They even have parking for their canoes and sea bikes. So you understand what they want to do... they don't give proof at the cafe unless you ask. On sunbeds and umbrellas also proof at all neither for joke.Price set 25€ Tax evasion everywhere the state that is; Probably on vacation.

We stayed with family in August, logically very busy period. The beach is presented with crystal clear water and wonderful colors. A sore note towards the beach managers who, at the modest amount of 25.00 euros, rent you a pierced umbrella and two sunbeds half broken; also if you are in three people force you to rent two umbrellas and four sunbeds for 50.00 euros, among other things without the tax receipt......
A dispassionate Recommendation: if you decide to go there, do not take umbrella and deck chairs because towards the end of the beach there is natural shade given by the mountain that is behind the sea. Bring a nice beach towel and you will have a wonderful day. If you are hungry I Recommendation the PILARINOS tavern that is at the top of the stairs you can enjoy a great view and the food is
Great.

Beautiful pebble beach. You have to go at 10am at the latest to find a seat. It is possible to rent an umbrella and two deckchairs for €20. There are no bars or restaurants on the beach but at the entrance there is a bar and a tavern with a panoramic terrace. Above the beach there is the possibility of renting boats

Clear water, pebble beach (shoes recommended). A bit crowded and obviously without umbrellas for everyone being very small, but it is worth stopping to take a nice regenerating bath. Parking nearby.

Came off a cruise and took city bus 4€ to the beach 10 min from Port. Came in at Costa Costa so we didn't have as hard of time ( husband bad knees) walking down to the beach/ resturant.Got nice chairs on the front under Palapa 35€ for 2 chairs.Loved it here! Great food and bar service. Spent lovely afternoon here. Water chilly but once in was lovely! Paddle board for rent a little further down if you want .Restrooms and changing areas right there and nice!

We briefly stopped off at Makris Gialos Beach as it was fairly close to our accommodations. Parking seemed to be limited (non-existent, really), but we followed in the footsteps of other beach-goers & just parked on the side of the highway. Unfortunately, it was a bit too cold to swim, but the water was beautiful & clear. The sand was more pebble-like, so if you prefer finer sand, this may not be the beach for you. Overall, it was very pretty & nicely kept!
