We started south at Otter and worked our way up the Ocean Path. There we made it up the trail and chose the more"challenging" path about halfway up... A little "surefootedness" is all it takes for this and it intersects back into the main trail. At the top it is outstanding and a great place for a bottle of water... More

We were last in Acadia 6 years ago. The trail was easier then. The views are arresting. Although we are growing older, I can't wait to come back.

This trail is easy/moderate, dog friendly, and in my opinion, had just as great of views at the summit as Beehive did. If you're up for a little more of a spicy challenge, there is a short spur trail called the Cadillac cliffs that had a neat cave and iron rung section. It quickly meets back up with the Gorham... Worth the hike to the top. Not nearly as big as Cadillac mountain- 500 ft elevation I believe. Well worth the hike and has excellent views of Sand Beach and Ocean Path/trail.

We had done Gorham Mountain Trail more times that I can count and always enjoyed heart-stopping vistas, but today it was the first time we hiked it in the mist... not even the mist, more of a thick fog. It was a bit strange to hike our favorite trail without seeing open ocean views, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. Very... More

We have been hiking for years, and thought we could conquer Precipice, about 30 min in we backed out. The sign at the trail head said to give Gorham a try. We did and so glad. This trail is a rocky one, no flat surfaces at all so I recommend hiking boots if you have weak ankles. We came across... More

This is a nice hike to see some outstanding views of Sand Beach and the surrounding areas. Spectacular scenery all around. Well worth the effort. I agree that those with balance issues should exercise caution if attempting this hike. Although the path is well laid out, you do climb over rocks and boulders for much of the way. If you're... This is a great hike!! If you take it all the way up (you hit about 3 or 4 big scenic overlooks with great views) you reach where Beehive Trail (extremely hard trail) ends and you see some amazing views..you get to see Sand Beach and the ocean, it's marvelous..it's a must do, especially if you are afraid to conquer... Very nice trail, we have an 8-year old who climbed like he had been doing it all his life, he loved it. He took selfies along the way and sent them to his friends from the top. There are some fairly rocky areas but the climb is fairly easy. Would definitely climb it again.

Short trail with lots of rocks and quick elevation. Not for ones with balance issues. Good view of Harbor. Not a long hike.
