What a gem! Didn't see it coming!

As I entered Acadia NP and rounded the corner of a small bay I was able to catch a glimpse of this beautiful white sand beach. I pulled the car over and ran down to it for a nice... read more

As I entered Acadia NP and rounded the corner of a small bay I was able to catch a glimpse of this beautiful white sand beach. I pulled the car over and ran down to it for a nice quiet walk. It was November and I had the entire beach to myself. It was not even that cold!! Get out... More

Sand Beach is very serene & uncrowded in late September. It is the 3rd stop on the free shuttle from the visitor's center. You do have to walk down a few steps to get to the beach.

We were there off season - November 1st - so not the type of weather to enjoy the beach, but if it were a lovely warm day this is an excellent spot to enjoy. They have bathrooms available, as well as separate changing rooms. Short walk to the beach, lots of parking. We were just doing a driving sight seeing... More

Nice scenic view. It is a decent size beach but kind of hidden. Very crowded and issue with parking. Made a stop here during Acadia Park Visit.

This is a very nice location, with rocks on both ends of a very large beach. Most of this area at the beach is all rocky. This was different. There was also a creek and a great view of more rock climbing to the back.

This beach is right off one of the trails for Precipice Trail. My husband and I did the precipice trail first then ended our day at the beach. It's a very relaxing small beach with great people watching. There's other trails that are around this beach. Oh -they have strick rules on dogs. NO DOGS ALLOWED. Parking is terrible so... More

It got some stairs at start that travelers have to get down to visit this sand beach. The beach is clean small and enjoyable for everyone. It got some nice views and photo stops where an individual can click pictures. This place is very near to thunder hole so, if a traveler visits sand beach do visit thunder hole too.

We took the free park shuttle bus to Sand Beach, on the recommendation of the park ranger at the Hull's Cove Visitors Center. This was our first day of hiking at Acadia, and we weren't familiar with the signage. We were looking for the Ocean Path Trail but somehow ended up on the Great Head Trail! We finally found the... This is an unusual beach on the main coast but it is beautiful and worth some time. I loved this part of the park. It is park of the beauty and the diversity.

WE went to Sand beach twice, once to enjoy a beach and then again at night for the constellation program. The beach is worth a visit but I would n't make it an entire day. the ranger constellation program was disappointing, it was cloudy and the reangers seemed to be faking their way through it.
