Right after entering the Badlands we came across what looked like a simple scenic turnoff - how wrong we were! After a short walk on a boardwalk we found ourselves at a small set of stairs leading out into an amazingly easy hike right in...More

We took pictures at the Badlands overlook at sunrise and stopped at the Door Trail just after that. Easily marked but can wander off for some amazing pictures.

This was my 11 year old son's favorite hike. Once you got off the walk-way, you could follow the numbered stakes out to the end of the trail. However, my son had the most fun just exploring and climbing. I recommend taking lots of water...More

This is a nice hike to see the Badlands up close. It's about a mile round trip and takes you right through the rocks and formations. It's an easy hike and mostly flat.

Easy trail to follow. If you want an even easier walk stay on the walkway. But the trail does lead to some very nice views and doesn't take long to reach the end.

This is a hike/walk that you must take. The hike allows you to venture out amongst the formations and moonscape to better experience the Badlands. The hike ultimately ends quite as ways from where you started...is was wonderful and easy paced.

This short hike to the end of the boardwalk then leads to some very interesting formations that visitors are allowed to walk out on. The geological formations resemble something you might find on the moon (even though I have never been to the moon). Kids...More

There are 3 relatively short trails that find their trailhead within a quarter of a mile from each other. The scenery for each is surprisingly diverse! This is a relatively easy trail with amazing views and stunning strata variations! Beautiful! A must see when visiting...More

Our favorite stop at Badlands allowed us to venture out onto the "moonscape" of the park. Step off the boardwalk and hike as far out as you can into another world. Very unique.

We went as our first trail. Great place to stretch your legs after a long drive. Although the views were unbeatable, a highlight was seeing a big horn sheep ram!
