The Grand View Point Overlook offers spectacular views of the park's canyons. This view is so worth the drive through the park and the relatively short walk to get to this overlook.

The views are stunning the whole way! The very end of the trail has a lot of big boulders that can be carefully climbed for an even better view. There are little squirrels at the end that look like tourists feed them all the time. They come right up up to you. Good pic opportunity. Bring water and good shoes.

If you want the best views, walk down the mile long path a little ways. My husband and I sat on a sheer rock edge (not too close) and simply reveled in the beauty of nature. I saw several people come, take a few pictures, then leave. I pity them because they didn't take the time to truly enjoy the... More

If you were to rank the various viewpoints or "attractions" at Canyonlands that you can get to without a four wheel drive, this ranks on top. The trail is a must to appreciate this park. The trail is not super easy but it's worth the effort. You walk along the rim with some dramatic vertical cliffs. After some uphill, you... More

Just 2 miles there and back - it's an easy one to squeeze in if you don't have lots of time. The views at the end are some of the best you'll see anywhere - stunning. Fit this one in.

Rim Trail, not just the Overlook: My wife and I hiked this trail in early October 2016 on a trip to hike the big 5 main Utah national parks. The views here are unbelievable and well worth the hike. Lots of folks show up at the overlook, so after waiting your turn to look at the explanatory sign, you need... More

Grand view point is amazing and awe inspiring. You can drive right to it. There are hikes around the rim if you want but the vistas alone are worth it. Definitely a must!

The panoramic views make you feel like your on another planet. The 1 mile hike to the point is worth the time, because of all of the spectacular views you can see along the way on the flat topped mesa. It is not that difficult of a hike until you reach the end of the trail when you have to... More

Considered an easy trail, the 2-mile round trip walk is not particularly strenuous. The canyon edge trail showcases the canyon far, far below, reminding us all that we are far, far above (so don't do any silly tourist stuff necessitating a 9-1-1- call for medi-evacuation services ... or a call to the undertaker). It is a really, really long way... More

This is a really well laid out trail with views and places to just sit and watch the ever unfolding spender that the sun's, clouds, rocks and colors dancing will perform for you. If you come early for the sunrise watch the canyon change every second, and I am sure the sunset is just as wonderful, either way relax and... More
