By far, the best of Southern Utah... Make sure you come in from Boulder.. Paved road until you hit the Nat Park.... Then nice gravel / dirt. If rain, avoid this part....

We only drove the first 15 miles from the entrance on Boulder side as one of the reviewers suggested. The drive was just pleasant and beautiful. Via the recommendation from the lady who worked at the Anasazi State Park Museum, we stopped at the exact 11.4 miles from the Burr Trail entrance point and parked the car at the dirty... More

The Burr Trail Road connects Bullfrog Marina on Lake Powell with Boulder Utah. This scenic drive starts in Bolder, UT and winds it way through some incredibly beautiful country. The road travels 67 miles through Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Capitol Reef National Park and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. Before you tackle the drive you should check with a ranger... More

Fun "trail" to go on. Have driven it a number of times. Scenic views. One of my favorite parts of this trail is the switchbacks. Enjoy.

We drove 34 miles of this road : 30 miles of paved road, and then 4 miles of unpaved road to Strike Valley Overlook trailhead. All this portion is easy to drive on, no worries altogether, do not hesitate to wander here. This is a very scenic journey through Long Canyon, the contrast of colors are breathtaking, and you can... I loved this drive. I found the desert backcountry very scenic. We hardly passed anyone else. The road wasn't bad at all, and we enjoyed driving up the switchbacks and out through Long Canyon. The others in my party thought it was a bit long, which surprised them. I thought it was a good drive and summary of the Waterpocket... More

We drove all the Burr Trail from Ticaboo to Boulder, and it's an unforgettable experience. It just snowed, but were dry for a few days since, so the road are very passable. It can be divided into three sections: the one before the switchbacks, after switchbacks to Long Canyon, then ascendant from Long Canyon to the final plateau. Each section... More

Burr trail is a lovely scenic drive, but after the first 15 miles or so from Boulder I would turnaround and head back to Boulder. This 15 miles or so is a paved section of the road , so weather isn't an issue normally. The "Long Canyon" area has some very abrupt. sheer canyon walls. It's a cool area, but... More

This is a very beautiful drive. It is a must do if you are visiting Capitol Reef National Park. If you are coming from the south, starts from Boulder, UT, and the road is paved and winding all the way to the boundary of Capitol Reef National Park. At that point, the road becomes dirt, but still passable with a... More

We drove from Capitol Reef to Boulder and then drove the Burr Trail from Boulder through Long Canyon. We didn't go further because recent rains had closed the unpaved portion of the Burr Trail. Even so, this was a great drive with twisting turns and gorgeous vistas. Even managed to find a hidden slot canyon someone had told us about.... More
