Not many parking spaces, especially for RV's, but we stayed in the park campground and walked to the Information Centre. This is a very quiet park...not as busy as most. The information Centre shows a good video on the park and its history of farming. Great gifts and souvenirs and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Take the drive through... More

Not as many visitors as the other parks in utah. Has good movie giving history of area and highly recommended. Has all the items you want. Ranger staffs center and is friendly and knowledgeable. Needs additional restrooms.

The real bad part is the parking. It is horrible. Once, you get in. You can get up to date conditions and recommendations. You can watch a nice video, check out the gift shop and look at displays. Plus, there are bathrooms.

We stopped here for the restrooms and to get a souvenir pin. They had a fountain outside for us to fill our water bottles, too! Inside, they had an interesting exhibit on all the different rocks that make up the multicolored layers you see throughout the park. If we'd had more time, I would have liked to have watched the video

Capitol Reef NP is a more under-utilized park in Utah's "Grand Circle" of parks, so you don't have the crowds. However, their parking lot is rather small due to geographical features. The visitor's center itself has a film available upon request; relief maps; exhibits explaining the geology, wildlife, etc.; restrooms, and a gift shop. The rangers were very helpful and... More

The park rangers here are very helpful and gave good tips on what activities would be good for our 2 boys. There was a short movie that gave interesting information about the natural wonders in the park. Definitely worth a stop to help plan your visit!

Very hands on and much more user friendly...Capitol Reef is well worth the trip out of your way to enjoy one of the remarkable National Parks in the state of Utah. Capitol gorge and Grand Wash are fabulous shorts hikes... Hickman Bridge is well worth the effort as well...
