Before getting to Crater Lake, stop off at the Rogue River! Lower the river is for floating but in the National Park you can see why it got it’s name! Scenic hiking with paved paths.

Nice short paved hikes with interpretive signage. Great views of the rapids and lava tubes that the river flows through. There is more than one stop, all are worth stopping at.

Fast moving and large River, at places you see it in the gorge. There are a number of places on the Rogue where you can white water raft. Enjoyable throughout.

A most beautiful experience driving along the Rogue River with camping, hiking and fascinating flora and fauna. Keep in mind if you hike to see waterfalls that the "easy" label on the brochure doesn't really mean "easy." We tried a moderate hike to see Whitaker...More

The lake itself is just beautiful. The fishing is exceptional. Many people were fishing while we walked along the shoreline. It is a fast moving river and fly casting is the way to go.

There is a fee to get into the park, but it is worth it. And if you are camper type of people definitely do that. Or stay in the lodge. But I say if you are bold then drive around the rim, and if not drive some of it and... More
