Crater Lake features two small islands. Wizard Island, is near the western edge of the lake, (and views of it are accessible from the Rim Drive) is a cinder cone approximately 316 acres in size. It is separated from the caldera wall by Skell Channel....More

The boat trip around Crater Lake was spectacular. I had taken the trolley ride the previous day and it enhanced the trip around the lake. What we saw around the rim looking down came alive from the view from the lake looking up, The rock...More

Could not recommend a boat shuttle out to Wizard Island more! Worth the price a million times over! You can actually hike all the way to the crater's rim of Wizard Island. Unbelievable views in every direction. You can hike around the rim and even...More

We got up close to the island on the boat tour. It's interesting to see the terrain and to learn about the winter uses for it.

Elevation from the lake level is 6,173 feet. This is probably the highlight of all the hikes besides Mount Scott. The boat ride takes about 45 minutes to reach Wizard Island. From here, they will drop you off and you have to climb to the...More

A dream come true to take a boat ride out to the island and hike up the trail to the top and walk around Witches Crater. The trail was good —a few rocky spot but easy to get to the top.

The NPS offers a shuttle boat ride around the Crater Lake and will slow and stop on this little island when arranged. They store boats here in winter, why don't they have some lake activity in off season months yet?
