Regret not spending enough time here. We got on artist's drive almost at sunset. It was pretty cloudy and was getting dark much faster. I missed this spot and just saw it from my car while driving. So can't say much.

As mentioned in the name of this natural attraction, this is about colors created by our mother nature. Simply said - amazing and another must see when visiting Death Valley.

The various minerals in the rocks cause a palette of different colors. Hence, the name. It a nice paved drive along a side road and is a one way looping back to the main road. There are plenty of places to pull over for photos.

Vibrant colors on the rocks really took me by surprise. Excellent viewing from the car. Road closure was going to take place soon for repairs, so you may want to check the website to see if the road is open.

It is amazing how this dirt/sedimate has different colors. In Arizona we call this painted desert, in Death Valley it's a palette. Take this very short drive compared to any other drive in Death Valley, you will enjoy it I'm sure. It is marked on the Badwater road.

went there last week - perfect for sunset and little after - walk into the canyon, its not hard and you will find interesting views and picture spots - My 5 year old didnt enjoy as much, I guess little older kids would have more fun exploring it

I've seen many different colors in many different mountain settings, but none as vibrant and colorful as these. Nothing like I've seen before. I highly recommend a stop here, if in Death Valley.

We sat and looked at the canyon for about 15 minutes and were amazed at how many different colors we saw as the clouds passed overhead. It was beautiful.
