The trail is actually an extended boardwalk through a swampy area. There are lots of plants which harbor nice flowers and birds (even the odd butterfly). Walking on the boardwalk, we got great views of the swamp and the life within it. Saw a number...More

If slowly taken or jogged throughout it is the place to experience the Everglades, not just spot a gator.

Try to time your visit with a tour guided by a Park Ranger. They are a wealth of information and can point out things that you might otherwise miss. This was well worth our time!

Even if alligators are far not as dangerous as crocodiles, avoid the very close encounter with them. Who knows, maybe the poor fellow is starving, but it is hardly imaginable in this full of prey environment. When you leave Ernest F. Coe visitor center, you’re...More

Great trail! You will see a lot alligators and many different birds. It’s quite short ( about a mile) I recommend to then go to the shark trail to do the bike tour And you’ll have yourself a great day :)

In my only free day in Miami, I decided to visit the Everglades from the Miami side (East) and i was very positive surprised with the overall experience and this trail for me is probably the biggest highlight. Very easy to do and about 1...More

This trail was something of a surprise, almost immediately encountered alligators both in the water and in the brush near the walking path (so, yea… caution advised!). The trail is fairly short but it is packed with opportunities to get close to the wildlife and...More

Just a short drive into the park, this trail is short and easy to access. When we visited in May, there were plenty of alligators in the area of the trail right next to the visitor center, and a few more visible as we went...More

There is basically only one entrance to Everglades. The park is expensive ,the Anhinga trail is near the entrance near Homestead you might not want to drive further into park. The big cypress preserve has a free visitor... More

The Alligators are basking in the sun on sunny days. Overall best time to visit is February during the dry season.
