A crocodile in the bay, a trail to the west, sun and royal plams, birds heaven. The question is why... read more

We were a bit ambivalent about driving to Flamingo. First it's a long way down there. And everything I read talked about a LOT of mosquitoes (I even thought of buying some protective mosquito-proof gear for our visit). Well, we had a free morning before...More

I don’t know if I was just lucky, but to see a family of Manatees playing and rolling for over an hour, for me constitutes a super highlight of any nature trip. Beautiful and so relaxing. Easy to see ospreys crocodiles and other birds. Didn’t...More

There was a lot of damage from the 2017 hurricanes. They are still rebuilding. Even though the infrastructure is still being repaired, it was a great place to see Osprey's. There are several nests in the area. There is a temporary set-up in the marina...More

Although not the prettiest portion of the Everglades, I did see a ton of wildlife around Flamingo. I recommend skipping the visitor center here and just walk around the water edge to spot manatees, crocodiles, osprey's, etc.. I got lucky and saw quite a few...More

The first time we arrived too late, and there were no attendants at the visitor center. We aimed to see the flamingos, we were reading about everywhere. Of course - because now we already know, that of course - there were no flamingos. We have...More

Of all the national parks this was one of the most disappointing places. So many possibilities and nothing done in a very long time. Yes the hurricane tipped the place over the edge of use it’s just a shame we can’t spend some money and...More

Visited here during the spring, was thrilled to see American crocodiles and also manatees. There were also many varieties of birds and the photography opportunities were endless. This included an active osprey nest and huge masses of seabirds on the sandbars, including white pelicans, egrets,...More
