While I did not spend much time in the visitor center, the area is beautiful! Yes, there are mosquitoes so bring the spray but the area is beautiful and so is the drive in! We saw three manatees from the docks! There is a small store that sells just about everything including sandwiches and such so it is easy to... More

Good general information about park and provided directions. Park Guard was not the friendliest but he was helpful. Personnel at the entrance were more friendly and gracious. Guard at Visitors Center was preoccupied with raising flag. Personnel at Flamingo center were great but boat trip (not run by National Parks) was disappointing. Perhaps September is not good time for birds... More

Long drive, old building, badly done information boards and a map. Mosquitos love it here but you won't.

While traveling through Everglades National Park, we decided to go all the way to Flamingo. I had not visited since I was little and the hotel on the property still existed. (It has since been destroyed by hurricanes and was never re-built) The property appeared dilapidated and was empty with the exception of a few cars in the marina parking... More

This center was okay. No ranger on duty. The building had a funny smell, and there really wasn't a whole lot to do here. There were bathrooms on the lower level. The view over the bay is beautiful.

Visitor center is overlooking the sea and has a decent view. You'll see some aquatic birds in the distance. It gets very hot here and you'll get attacked by mosquitoes without repellant (bug net recommended if you aren't too fashion obsessed). There's an adjacent dock where the boats take off from for tours of the southern glades, which are pricey;... More

Had a great time here even though we learned flamingos aren't ever around Florida much anymore! Was hoping to see a python but found a crocodile so that was cool. The park ranger and maintenance man were wonderful to talk to:) I could have done without the massive swarms of mosquitos but they're to be expected!

Based on rave reviews, I was thrilled to get here and then less than thrilled to actually experience it. Yes, the staff inside the buildings appeared to be relatively helpful, though the only excursions available were $60-70+ boat trips with a ranger. You can check out the area where crocs may be seen, and the large marina area in the... More

I understand the park service is under funded but to let this entire area just go is kind of sad. We have visited more than 20 national parks and this is the worst I have ever seen for a visitors center. I understand they are starting the process of renovation and I hope that they get the needed funding to... More

Extremely disappointed, Cost almost$75.00, and it was slightly over cast when we got on the boat ( it was more like a party barge type boat) We traveled down a man made canal and when we got to open water it was raining and lightning. We turned around to go back. And as we were heading back there was another... More
