Short trail and good view of a river of grass

This boardwalk goes out into a freshwater marl prairie. Early mornings are best; nice light at sunrise and not many people.

We stopped here based on the recommendation of the visitor center and it was well worth the stop. So beautiful and vast. Bring insect repellent though.

This is a short trail over a boardwalk, with an observation tower in the middle. From there you have a nice view out over a large grassy plain scene, as well as a clump of cypress trees. Not much in the way of wildlife here on our visit, but a stunning example of one of the other gorgeous types of... More

Great little hike but kind of short. There are some great views and wildlife. The walkways take you above the swamp and allow you to appreciate nature without being lost to it.

We had never been to this spot before, so we pulled over on our way to Flamingo. There is a nice boardwalk trail which leads to an observation tower and a beautiful expansive view of the River of Grass. Unfortunately we did not see much wildlife, but they may have gone for cover with the blazing sun alternating with pouring... More

This is the perfect spit for pictures. It gives you the idea of the vastness of the park, and a great view of the river of grass. It is about .4 mile hike. There are stairs on this trail. Loved it!!!!!

This is one nice trail, which offers pretty much the nicest views of the grasslands you can find in the park. You can see gators, lots of birds and the sunset there is just magical.

I love Pa-hay-okee - including the road to get to the boardwalk. There's a good bit of wildlife to see there if you go slowly and don't drive like a bat out of hades. I go there often to photograph the wildlife. Tip - if you see a photographer on the side of the road, please be courteous if you... More

This is a great trail to get different views of the Everglades. With a boardwalk it is easy to do and keeps you somewhat above the mosquitos. This would be a great place to watch the sun set over the Everglades if you were in the park at this time of day. We sat and watched some birds fly around... More

This trail is fairly short, but offers good viewpoints for seeing some of the wildlife of the everglades.
