If you are looking for panoramic views of the Everglades, this is the place. Very short walk with nice elevated walkway.

Worth the stop on the way to Flamingo. Very scenic. Another perspective of the Everglades. Take water and a camera. Enjoy!!

Pa-hay-okee Trail is a quarter-mile boardwalk that leads to an elevated observation deck to view the marl prairie and Shark River Slough. This is the same Shark River as Shark Valley to the north; the lookout tower is about 15 miles north from this point. Pa-hay-okee is a Seminole word for "grassy waters", an appropriate name for the views. Alligators,... More

The trail is a must do part of any visit to the Park. The boardwalk provides great access to the fresh water marsh. lots of birds and alligators. Be sure to walk all the way around and take your time.

This trail is short, but sweet. You get to see the glades for miles. There is a viewing deck that is elevated to get a good view. There is also a flat deck that lets you see the prairie from a closer view. This trail only took about 15 minutes.

Stopped here but didn't see any wildlife on the boardwalk except for one egret. It was more scenic driving along the road to the center to see egrets and herons in the cypress trees. Might be more birds there during other times, so will stop again next time we go through.

Among all other places in this park, this place is one of my favorites. Very nice to walk and see the view. Good place to enjoy.

This is a short walk but has a nice overlook of the slough, or sea of grass. Many lizards and birds and you get an overlook from higher up of the slough then get to walk right over it. It is a boardwalk and handicapped accessible on one approach to the overlook.

We walked this trail in early evening and enjoyed it. Beware the mosquitos are quite fierce. Very Beautiful.

This boardwalk goes out into a freshwater marl prairie. Early mornings are best; nice light at sunrise and not many people.
