This is a beautiful place in its natural state with LOTS of wildlife to watch. (See photos). There are three ways to enjoy it, via tram, walking or bike riding. The tram tour is WELL WORTH the price. The tour guides and drivers are excellent!...More

I love to go to this park. Flat 15 mile bike route. In the cooler weather there are tons of alligators along the route and baby alligators too as well as many birds and often some snakes. We recently went in October and had a...More

Get to see alligators and birds up close. There are narrated tram tours which last approximately 2 hours and cost $25 ($19 seniors, $12.75 children 3-12) which take you to the observation tower. You can also rent a bike or take your own bike to...More

I've been here a bunch of times. I try to go each time I fly into Miami because it's just such a unique experience that you can't really get elsewhere and it's worth the drive out if you rented a car! You can rent bikes...More

Hughe disapointment after a 2 hours drive from Miami beach. Empty. We took a walk anyway and saw a gator.

Shark valley is a great starting point to explore the Everglades. You can explore the national park with a tram tour, walking or by renting bikes. Everything seemed well organized and the alligators made it a great experience.

There is something for everyone here. Great guided walks led by National Park Service park rangers. The slough slog is a must if you are feeling adventurous and don't mind getting wet. There is also a private company that rents bikes if you want to...More

Firstly, my main objection is having to pay an admission fee of $25 after we had booked the tram ride. The park consists of a long loop road and short boardwalk. We saw no alligators and just a few birds. The ranger did her best...More

We went on a Sunday morning, got there a little before 10am. For a weekend, there were very few people we passed on the loop trail. We brought bikes with us and did the entire loop, which is really peaceful and beautiful. Would definitely recommend...More

Unfortunately I can only answer one part of your question: should we bike/take tram at Shark Valley and how much time should we allot? The bike ride is flat and easy going but it is every bit of the 15 miles described. The... More
