Small but nice.

Not much to this visitors center. Restrooms, quick access to 2 short trails and small gift shop was pretty much all there is.

This visitor center is one of the smaller ones in Everglades National Park. They have a few basic books and guides to the park. It is also the starting point for ranger lead walks of the Anhinga Trail.

The Royal Palm Visitor Center is nicely shaded and looked well organised with water and soda machines. Since the Anhinga trail was closed this week for trail renovation mid sept 2016 it was not in use.

I usually recommend the Royal Palm Visitor Center and Anhinga Trail be the second stop for anyone visiting Everglades National Park, just after the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center. In the past I have always found Anhinga Trail to have the richest and most abundant variety of wildlife. Unfortunately today to our shock we found out while walking past the... More

This is a very nice visitors center with helpful people, a nice little display and park store. Pretty much everything you want or need from a national park visitors center. One of the staff helped us in planning what trails to walk and where we might be more likely to see animals. My daughters started their junior ranger packets here... More

We stopped here on our way to Loop Road to get some directions and use the facilities. The visitor center is well maintained and rangers there provided us directions and some other info on the loop road. Visitor center also has some information on park's history and interactive maps. We were surprised to see lots of alligators in the creek... More

From the car park it is a lovely board walk around the area. It does not take very long, say 30mins. to an hour depending on what is going on. There are also guides who will take you on the same walk and explain what is going on as you go around.

The gift shop is only a very little shop, but there are rest rooms and also tours and talks by Rangers. We arrived to late for the Ranger walking tour but stayed on for the Ranger lecture. We had a lovely Lady called Angelina who gave us a wonderful talk on Crocodiles & Alligators and how to avoid danger.

We stopped at The Royal Palm Visitor Center on our way to the Florida Keys and had a swell time. It was April, so the bugs weren't really out yet which was a nice bonus. We did the boardwalk tour and saw 2 alligators, some turtles, lots of fish and some wild ducks. Kids enjoyed it and it was a... More
