This is a limited access, seasonal visit. PLAN ahead, it is a must lodging stay due to the distance from any town or other accommodation. To visit this location and truly enjoy you really need to stay on the property which is ON the rim....More

The Grand Canyon as a whole is sooo phenomenal. The North Rim is lesser known than the South Rim but is still sooo cool! To fully experience the GC you have to tie on your hiking shoes and get below the rims. The North Bass...More

It's a long drive from the south rim to the north rim and it's like another world. Yes, it's the same canyon but a different view and a different attitude. You really need to see them both to have a full canyon experience. Not really...More

This university had the best and smoothest admissions process I have ever seen. One minute I was simply gathering information, and the next thing I knew, I was accepted and then enrolled. They wanted me there, and not just to get my money, but they...More

The North Rim has a peaceful rustic vibe that is very different than the South Rim. You find yourself in Ponderosa Pine forrest, and the temperature is decidedly cooler than the South Rim.Lodging is available at the Grand Canyon Lodge, a historical "railroad lodge"built when...More

Words are so misleading when you describe this wonder. Every angle every step gives you a different view, this is such an incredible experience.

The Grand View hike at the east end of the south rim is a fantastic hike-tough, but manageable. Going down to Horseshoe Mesa took us about 2.5 hours and up was 2 hours. We heard that it takes about double coming up as going down,...More

When I was eight, my mother thoroughly researched our visit and determined to avoid the July crowds at south rim and directed our family of six here for two nights camping. It was a life changing experience! Many people say the views of the canyon...More

Each site has its own beauty. South rim is much more busier and is the classic Grand Canyon visit. I would do that first and then do the North Rim at a later day.Just be ready for the crowds on the south rim. Enjoy.
We will be driving to the North Rim from Gooseberry Mesa for a day trip and would like to know the best way to spend the day considering we would have driven 2-3 hours to get there and another 2-3 to drive home. Want to make the most of the day without cramming.
