- ReadRibbet1,631 contributionsSpectacular Panoramic Views of the West RimGuano Point is a separate part of the Skywalk West Rim Grand Canyon experience. You must enter the area through the official entrance building controlled by the Hualapai Tribe. The admission fee is around $65 dollars. That will provide you access to shuttle buses that transport people to the Skywalk and Guana Point. Guana Point provides a more panoramic view of the Grand Canyon gorge with the Colorado River clearly visible on one side and great scenic views on the other. You can hike to the top of some peaks to get more views of the area. With very few barriers, you can get fairly close to the edge as you take your photographs. The shuttle buses run frequently and will take you back to the entrance area.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 25 April 2024
- Lynda K2 contributionsGuano point worth it. Pack a lunchGrand Canyon west rim Guano point was beautiful. Quite scary actually as there are no barriers. Just dead drops on either side of you. I went with my hubby and 2 boys ages 7 and 11. Keep an eye on them so that they don’t get close to the edge. I wouldn’t take any kids younger than that. Not really worth it… The shuttle buses were good and most of the time frequent. Once we waited more than 20 mins. We were lucky that day was nice and breezy. We had lunch at the first stop (eagle point). Not much to see there but they had air conditioned restaurant for lunch. Overall I'm giving this review 3 stars, please continue to read as it does have a heartbreaking story.
The views of the canyon are amazing! We stayed at the cabins and watching sunrise and sunset were beautiful. They have two free walking trails one is a half a mile while the other is 1.7 miles. The cabins are nice but overpriced and they are not very clean nor do the rooms have a t.v.
The food and the famous hualapai taco is very basic. The fry bread is good but this taco with a drink is over $20. Food sucks bring your own if you decide to do. The room does provide a mini fridge and microwave.
If you go to Guano Point and the other hiking trail you need to buy a general admission ticket. You will then take a bus ride to both locations. Guano Point is worth it.
The Skyrim is the biggest ripoff since the start of inflation. DON'T DO IT! They only allow you out there for 2-3 mins and you cannot take your phone, however you can buy a photo. 8 photos for $50. This place is a tourist 🪤
Once we left, we stopped at a store about 30 miles away and there we learned the story behind the skywalk. An engineer from California told the hualapai that he could design the skywalk if he could get a percentage of the sales. They agreed, and once this thing was built the hualapai filed for bankruptcy and that man lost his entire life savings. He died young too, I think he was only 52. I guess he died from stress. During that time several of the Indians in this tribe made the comment that the engineer deserved it because he was white. So sad! We cannot control what our ancestors did so it's so ignorant to make a comment like that. The hualapai is about 2300 strong, in comparison they are the smallest, but also the most wealthy. They make about $1 million per day. Because of the story with the engineer I would never visit the Grand Canyon West Rim again, go to the South Rim.

Nice point of view, kids loved to climb the hill.
the "problem" is that the area is so controled that you cant walk a lot. The "trail" is short, and as you cant walk anywhere on site, after 20 minutes MAX, youll be done.
Its nice because its near Vegas, but its kind of limited as a activity. If we had the choice, we would rater go to the sout-north rim.

Not for the faint of heart, Guano gives you a much better view than Eagle Point. The scenery is dramatic and spectacular- almost surreal. There is a rocky outcrop you can climb for a better view and cracking photos

Guano Point was the most spectacular place to experience the Grand Canyon. Far less people than the South Rim and did not have the tourist trap vibe. There are no railings so caution must be used. We did not do the glass walkway as that got too many bad reviews.

This was a beautiful area. It was a great day and the view was awesome. Spent some time checking out the area then rode the bus to another area. No private vehicles were allowed. There was also a checkpoint going into the Tribal area.

Nothing interesting compare to Eagle Point in Grand Canyaon West park. Since there is a shuttle bus linking from visitor carpark lot to Eagle point and here. Just to take in the view and enjoy the 60deg F weather

Rented a car and drove from Vegas... long drive in the wilderness but an adventure nonetheless. Stock up on snacks and drinks on the way.
Beautiful views can be had at this location but the pricing is deceptive and the Skywalk is by far the WORST view of the canyon at this site. The price for the Skywalk is tourist trap price gouging. I regret forking my money over — not allowed to bring your phone (pass thru a metal detector), must pay for professional photos.
Nothing against the Native American tribe running this, but my advice is skip the Skywalk. Pay only for the self guided parts of this experience. “HUALAPAI LEGACY DAY PASS | $44.00”
Guano Point is the ultimate part of this experience. If you are able, there is some light climbing here where you can get some “king of the world” type photos and breathtaking views.
If coming from Vegas, this is an all day affair. We left about 10am and got back to our hotel about 8:30pm. We also did Hoover Dam along the way which was relatively quick.
Summary: get ready for the drive, skip the Skywalk, only buy the most basic entry, you’ll have plenty to see without any extras.

Out of all the places we went to in Vegas and the the Grand Canyon, Guano point has to be the most amzing place I have ever been to and seen, totally breath taking, I`d fly to Maccarren airport 12.5 hrs, sit on a coach for another 3hs to Guano point for the day and then come all the way back, it`s that good

Hi. How far is the hike out to the mine? Is it super scary because of no railings - doable for the faint at heart? Can you see it from the viewpoint? Thank you.

I want to drive there in our rental car. Do you know if skywalk entrance is granted to individuals or just tours?
Written 12 July 2018
Individuals can go on the skywalk. You just need to buy the ticket that includes it.

I plan on driving the family of 5 from Vegas to Guano Point. Since you can’t take anything on the skywalk or hike that area I plan on going to visit Guano Point. So what I would like to know is where to park, how much it would cost per person or car to see Guano Point. Or how does it work if you park at Grand Canyon West Airport? Any help or information is much appreciated.
Written 20 May 2018
Guano Point is part of the Grand Canyon West, so as the Eagle Point where the skywalk is. The parking spaces are free at the ticketing and Hualapai ranch area. To reach the Guano and Eagle Points can only be done by hoping on the bus which is complimentary. The Grand Canyon West is run by the Grand Canyon Resort Corporation. Day pass to visit Guano Point, Eagle Point, and Hualapai ranch is $49,92 include tax.

Saludos quisiera más información sobre el mirador guano point, quisiera hacer este tour desde las Vegas en carro propio , quiero saber sobre el costo para entrar a la reserva , y cuánto hay que caminar hasta el mirador desde el aparcamiento ?

General admission is $45 per adult. You can't walk to Guano Point. It's miles from the parking lot. Your admission fee includes shuttle bus transportation from the main entrance to all access points within the park, including Guano Point.

We will be in Las Vegas for an Archery Tournament next month. We wanted to take a ride and see the Grand Canyon. We were looking for something a little closer than the South Rim area/Park Headquarters, a 4 hour drive in a packed car is not fun for any of us. We wanted to get a little closer, perhaps the West Rim, but did not want to go to the Skywalk. Is there any place that is worth seeing, or should we just bite the bullet and drive to the South Rim?
Do you have to take a special shuttle/bus to Guano Point? Can you skip the "touristy" things and head straight for Nautre?
Any assistance/guidance is greatly appreciated. Thank You

Best option would be to go to West rim. Apart from Sky walk, you can opt visit Eagle point, Guano point, Tribal village etc., You can enjoy freshly baked corn too... Include Hoover dam & its surroundings in your schedule. You can just park your car and enjoy nature...

Can you just see guano point if so how much?where do you get shuttles from. We are traveling by motorcycle so short on time and need to stay on paved roads. Any info would be really helpful.

The following details should answer your query:
The Grand Canyon's West Rim is located in Arizona and is 120 miles (193 km) from Las Vegas. Helicopter and bus tours from Las Vegas are popular ways to visit the Grand Canyon's West Rim. To reach the Grand Canyon West Rim, head northwest out of Kingman on Highway 93, then turn right on Pearce Ferry Road. Take this road to Diamond Bar Road, which is signed for Grand Canyon West. Diamond Bar Road will take you to the Hualapai Indian Reservation. A little farther along, you'll come to the Grand Canyon West Terminal.
You also have a parking lot here. Can travel to Guano point on the shuttle buses for a nominal fee.
