Although the drive from Sedona or from Las Vegas is grueling, it’s well worth it. The $30/car admission is steep and the parking is tough; there is lots of parking but there are throngs of visitors. Stop at the first lot, and walk out to Mather’s Point. Continue to walk along the paved path and admire the incredible view of... More

We stayed in the Grand Canyon Village for two nights. It was our second visit to this place, after 4 years. It seems that this place is getting very crowded and now during our second visit we could not see as many animals as we could see 4 years ago. It was a disappointment.

...breathtaking scenery! I enjoyed a delicious dinner (stuffed roasted pork loin) at the Arizona Room restaurant and did some light shopping at the gift shop. Be sure to time your canyon viewing starting the hour before sunset...stunning!

This is start point of West part of South Rim Shuttles. Big parking short walk and You are in Village. There is couple of View Points, but also Shuttle to west part of South Rim where You can't drive by Your own.

This Park is easy to navigate and comfortable to visit. There is so much to see that you really need two or three days to see it.

Unbelievable place. The village is well set up for sure but that's not a real concern here. The canyon is a absolute must do for nature lovers and tourists. It is immense. Take a walk to the museum and info center along the rim. The skywalk is special but I do not see it's purpose. The walk along the rim... More

I didn't find this to be a terribly touristy place. This is a village where there are not only tourists, but residents who work in the area. The prices are reasonable just about everywhere, and it's right on the south rim of the Canyon.

Rangers here are often volunteers who come to the Grand Canyon because they love the place and are deeply committed to making it live for visitors. Every tour or lecture we went to was excellent -- and vetted by the National Park Service so we didn't get taken in by some of the tall tales that the tourbus and jeep... More

This historic district is located on the walkable south rim of the canyon. There you will find the Santa Fe Railway Station, built in 1909. The El Tovar Hotel, an early grand hotel still in operation, is also there. Several walking trails are nearby. Visit the Bright Angel Lodge, where you will find a History Room portraying the early history... More
