    Great place to visit canyon
Thoroughly enjoyed our day here, arrived by train, left by road, long queues of traffic coming in when we left early evening. Village was busy but not overly crowded and when we walked along the rim trail it thinned out a bit. Buildings blend into the area and don’t detract from the look of the village. Best thing of course is the view of the canyon itself, plenty of spots to get that ever important photo. Watch out for the cheeky squirrels, especially if you have food, they tried to get into my bag which I had sat down for a minute. One of the highlights of my US trip.

    impressive surroundings
Gondwana Canyon Village Disney must have taken their inspiration for designing rocks from here. The chalets are well-equipped and have a nice bathroom. The restaurant is quiet, it has a nice choice of food in buffet-form for the main course. Also plenty of options for vegetarians! The staff are very nice to deal with. There is good wifi in the main building and ny the swimming pools, no wifi or cell coverage in the chalets. When entering the Canyon Park Reserve you still have quite a drive before you will reach the location. We ended up putting the gps location of the facility in our navigation. There is almost no cell coverage in the area. We spotted giraff, monkeys, ostrich, springbok.

Dining on the south rim of the grand canyon
When you go to the south rim, you will not only get awe inspiring views of God's handiwork, but you will also meet some great people. We had some servers at the fred Harvey restaurants that really stood out. Lily helped us at the tavern. She is a very hard worker. I wanted to tell her to take five, but I could not catch up to her. Helpful, friendly, polite even under fire. The fred Harvey Cafe has a real gem by the name of Phoenix. He immediately put us at ease and attended to us in a unique manner that we thoroughly enjoyed.

It never grows old or ceases to take your breath away!
This was our 9th visit to one of the most extraordinary places on earth. The views can only truly be appreciated in person. Neither picture nor film can capture the grandeur of the experience. We will continue to return in the future as the experience never grows old. Phrases like "breathtaking", "spectacular" and "mind-blowing" barely express the actual experience.

"See the U.S.A. in your Chevrolet " (or whatever you drive.)
Went to visit my grandfather who worked at the Bright Angel Lodge back around 1957. They wouldn't let me take a donkey ride in the canyon because I was too young. But I did walk quite a ways down. What a beautiful sight. And the people were so nice. It's surely one of those places in the U.S. that you need to visit. While you're out that way, don't miss Yellowstone, Petrified Forest and Bryce Canyon.

Great Home Base For Grand Canyon Visit
We enjoyed our visit to the town. It is very conveniently located just a short trip from the South Park Entrance. We arrived in the afternoon and were still able to spend three to four hours in the park having dinner and sight-seeing. The Village is a great location to allow us to get up the next morning, have a bite to eat and still get to our 9:30 AM bike tour with plenty of time to spare.

    Wander around a bit
We stayed at the El Tovar, so we wandered the area a bit over a couple of days. There are excellent views. It is a bit busy at all times. A few of the lodges could use a little TLC and a few are pretty dated looking, architecture wise. The Thunderbird is downright ugly. They could use some better food options. El Tovar is cool and we enjoyed walking around Bright Angle Lodge. Go check out the Train Station too.

Breathtaking Views of the Grand Canyon
These are breathtaking photos of the Grand Canyon South Rim. We are in the Grand Canyon Village just west called the Yavapai Point. You can actually see the Colorado River from this point. Extremely beautiful viewpoints for photography and they do have a geology museum there.

Gateway to the grand canyon south rim. For lodging, make a reservation ahead of time to secure your place. Be prepared for higher price tags. There are law enforcement rangers everywhere so be mindful of your driving such as speed.

I’m on a two week road trip currently, I normally don’t leave reviews but I felt like I needed to for this place. I’m staying in Canyon village currently, and I went to take a shower. Turns out, the shower house is a 15 minute walk away from where I'm located at and could be 30 minutes depending where you’re staying at in the park. Not only that, you pay 2.50$ for every 5 minutes you’re in the shower. Great, I paid to get in the park, I paid for the RV site, and now I have to pay to take a shower. Oh and also you have to pay for a shuttle if you want to see the Canyon different angles. I’ve stayed in at least 5 national parks so far on my trip and this place is complete trash compared to the others. Overall, overrated, overcrowded, overpriced!

It’s really cool to see this area around the Grand Canyon. There is a lot to see and do here. Restaurants are on the expensive side, but that should be expected.
