Rose at 6:16 not to miss the sunrise. Wow was it cold but we were motivated to catch a look at the Canyon in dawns first light .We stood there freezing but the view was incredible changing constantly as the sun rose.

Visited on December 23, 2016, just after the fog had lifted. Even without the sun highlighting the contours of the landscape, this is a beautiful location, well worth a visit (and right next to the historic El Tovar Hotel and Hopi House).

very nice views from Bright Angel Point. There is also a trail which you can go dowstairs. Till the river it is about 5 hours (1 way). But you can also make shorter walks.

After our visit to the Grand Canyon West Rim we proceeded to the Grand Canyon South Rim in Arizona. We were welcomed by lots of snow, accumulated from a recent snowstorm. The Grand Canyon South Rim is a National park and is better organized and preserved. We stayed in the Bright Angel Lodge for the night and it was affordable,... More

If you can get here before the coach trips arrive, or after they have left, this is quite a nice view point, but during the day it is packed with people who have got little time at the rim and want to "Do Everything", so can be a disappointment. You can't see the river from here, but it is still... More

Took some great photos of mule deer and big horn sheep at this spot. It was late in the day when the big horn sheep showed up. Not very busy on a Monday.

This time we sent to first Lodge which was good decision as mixed ability group, still lots of fun and challenge. Met an 80 year old doing Rim to Rim walk on her way back, impressive.

All the talk of the drive in and the wildlife cannot be stressed enough.. if it's dark you better slow WAY down, you'll never see a black cow on the road at night and it is open range... There are fairly large parking areas, the trail is paved, very easy but you are still pretty high and there are up's... More
