The east rim of the canyon is nice trip as you make your way from the South Rim (Grand Canyon Village) to the town of Page (which is the gateway to the Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend). The east rim drive offers a lot of stops along the way where you get different views of the canyon (e.g. Grandview Point,... More

If you visit the Grand Canyon South Rim by car, you should absolutely drive the East Rim Drive. There are a number of viewing areas along the route, that give you different views of the canyon, and more experiences and appreciation of this natural wonder. We were here on a beautiful and not too terribly scorching hot day in late... More

This is totally worth the drive. We went in winter when it was snow covered and just unbelievably beautiful. It gets busy in summer.

Came from Monument Valley so entered GCNP from the east. Stopped at every view point along this route. Good road but needed sunglasses due to the setting sun. Only about a 20 mile drive but took a couple of hours with stops.

Scenic, winds down through the forest to the desert. Awesome viewing areas ... we stopped everywhere. It was recommended in the park literature, and didn't disappoint.

We didn't do this last time, much less people and fantastic views looking over the west. Well worth seeing.

Decided to make our way to the South Rim by way of the East Rim drive. We followed along the Rim to have the opportunity to stop at vantage points to view the Little Colorado River and the canyon gorge. Most visitors drive directly to the South Rim, where it is well worth the extra time to drive in from... More
