Caught shuttle bus out, had done a few walks and needed a rest and toilet stop before more walking back along the trails. Good services.

The West Rim drive is well organized with a free hop on / hop off bus that travels the route every 15 minutes. This is a MUST see and do trip which can easily be done in a few hours (depending on how many stops...More

Hermits Rest is a wonderful old building originally used as a rest stop for travelers to the canyon. Of course, today it is a souvenir shop but you can look behind and beyond and imagine what tourists in the old days might have seen. As...More

This is the last point on Hermit' s rest shuttle. It's worth a stop only for restrooms, coffee or get a good seat to sit in the bus but not for views. Other points have better views than this one.

We hiked the Rim Trail and ended at Hermit's Rest. The walk/hike was very easy and paved most the way. Was nice to arrive at Hermit's Rest, cute area to look around, with a shop and snack station. Was also nice that you can catch...More

We wanted to see the canyon at sunset so took the shuttle to the west end. The gift shop had already closed (before 5pm) & the trees there block the canyon views. Lots of port o jons. Don't go this far to see a sunset.

Hermit's Rest is the stopping point of a highly recommended route along the south rim. It's only accessible via the buses. But the views between Hermit's Rest and the village are the best from the rim.

More amazing views but this is the last shuttle stop before it heads back up. Small place to buy snacks and drinks

yes, it would be a good idea. The shuttle going back takes about 45 mins because the route has more stops on the way back. There are a lot of vista points along the way. You will have a good look at the Colorado River... More
