If you want stunning pictures of the Grand Canyon, then this is the spot you want to be at. The views are amazing and the colors and forms as well. Great place to gaze the canyon.

One of the most crowded places I have ever been, anywhere. I think most of the people who visit the canyon stop here. Huge number of buses. Views are the same as any of the dozens of viewpoints along the canyon, nothing special here, just loads of people. Do yourself a favor, walk 1/4 mile east or west and you... More

This is the lookout point where I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time. It is very accessible yet the view is not obstructed. Good, high location.

Mather Point is near the Visitor Center and 10 miles West of Grandview Point and despite having left Las Vegas at 6am, driven a cumulative 320 miles to this point, not having stopped for a decent lunch break, at 3.10pm in the afternoon after over 9 hours of leaving our hotel and having already stopped at 5 other Grand Canyon... Many of the pints may all look the same but they have different views of the canyon and a meaning. I also recommend that when you start your South Rim walk. Start here. Or near the South West side of the canyon. It is so much easier if you are walking at either sides of the south rim canyon and... More

As you park near the Visitor Center, the nearest point with excellent views is Mather Point. You can then walk in either direction to find your best views.

Although we got much better views on the trails this was still a beautiful spot to take pictures if you didn't want to do the kaibab trails or the unpaved near Yaki Point. Just be warned there are a lot of people at this overlook at one time so if you keep that in mind you will still have a... More

A great place to get various views to take pictures of the Grand Canyon! Lots of people so it can take some time to get the shots you want but worth it. Dress warm!!
