We walked from the village to visitor center and then we drived to Desert View and I believe the Desert View was the best view from all. Suggestion: arrive as early as possible to avoid a lot of people. THe watchtower opens at 9AM, we...More

This was one our stops for photographs along the south rim. We walked around the rim towards the east of the tower. We encountered Mountain Lion tracks. My friend kind of freaked me out, telling me to be careful of the fresh tracks.

Take a camera and keep shooting. You can see way off in the distance. There is a story behind the tower. Go there and learn about it.

It is the best place to see both the Grand Canyon and the desert to the east. You can also see the Confluence of the Colorado and Little Colorado Rivers from there.

The architecture is superb the view is excellent and much different than the rest of the park. It’s right after the east entrance. Not sure if it’s worth the drive from the Grand Canyon Village

Came here at the end of the day to see the sunset. It was overly crowded , so take that into account if you don't like crowds. The watch tower was really cool. Again, lots of people at the end of the day. We were...More

If I remember correctly you can get a stamp for your passport in this Watchtower, it was warm and crowded, there is a shop and WC in the vicinity, pretty good views of... nothing.
