I'm not sure what more I can say about the whole Grand Canyon experience. There isn't a bad view anywhere in this park!

This viewpoint is a short walk from Hopi Point. There is a very nice view of the canyon from this point and there is some interesting history associated with this location as described on the signboards. There was a silver mine at this location at one time and then, for 13 years, a uranium mine. And then the resulting clean-up... More

As with all of the stops and look out points in the Grand Canyon, Powell's Point has an exquisite, mind blowing view. There is a memorial at this location, named after a retired US military officer who lost one arm during the civil war. It is dedicated to him and his team. He led two expeditions down The Colorado and... More

You need to take the red shuttle to get to this point. Worth stopping at and can walk to the next or just wait for the next shuttle.

Great vantage point for sunrise and watching the light spread over the canyon. Bring your breakfast and coffee to enjoy after sunrise. Shuttle busses run every 1/2 hour this early in the morning.

Most of the crowds go beyond Powell to view the sunset. The views are excellent here and you have many fewer people to get in the way of your view. There is a high monument where you can see almost 360 degrees. The sunset is often more spectacular in the east.

If you want to enjoy the sunrise without the crowds, this is the place to be. There are informative postings about the various points in the Canyon you can see from Moran point

This was as far west from the visitor's center and Mather Point as my family and I were able to make it during our one full day at the South Rim. We are certainly glad we did. Powell Point gives you another angle of the South Rim from 180 degrees and is not quite as crowded as Mather Point. There... More
