This hike seemed long, as I was "dragging" my 5 yr old, but it had some great views out over the mountains to stop and look at. The path is narrow, but not heartstoppingly, at times with no rails, so children must be watched at most times.the falls were worth the hike even though they were currently half the size... More

We hiked this with young children and the walk is definitely worth the gorgeous falls at the end! Highly recommend!

Other reviews don't lie - parking lot fills up fast. We got there at 10 and lot was full and cars lining up to take spots from early departures. Entire hike is paved but quality of pavement deteriorates as you climb. I would not recommend strollers or wheelchairs as others have - crazy in my view to try. You'll regret... More

Great fun. A little bit of a hike, but the waterfall was awesome. I would hike that mountain again just to experience it one more time. The kids didn't have a problem with the hike. We didn't see any bears.

Good hike through plenty of fall colors. Even during the drought it was worth the hike to see the waterfall. It is an easy walk but a steady climb up with a few flat areas. We saw people of all ages on the trail. I would suggest going early in the morning (before 10). Apparently this is a tour bus... More

I am NOT a hiker so this was a little tough for me but it was absolutely beautiful!!! I recommend this to anyone that doesn't have a hard time breathing/asthma because it is inclined for 95% of the way up. On the way down was much easier!

My husband and I hike a bunch....on much flatter land. The walk UP was manageable but I felt it. Hubby did much better. The views were lovely....there were steep drop offs. I see many people posting this is great for children, I think that may be due to the gentle slopes....there are drop-offs..so young children would need supervision. There is... More

The trail is partially paved and is not too steep. Its good for families even with kids. The actual waterfall is not that spectacular but the short hike is.

It's quite popular falls to visit in Great Smoky Mountain but it's quite small. You have to walk around 1.4 miles to reach and the walkway has nothing to see.
