I enjoyed driving the 11-mile Cades Cove loop. We had a beautifully clear day, which made it perfect to enjoy the vistas. One of the best stops was the Primitive Baptist Church, where a volunteer explained some of the beliefs of the church and its influence on the community. I felt like we got a good glimpse of what life... More

April was the perfect time to visit. Busy but not packed. Great hiking weather. Be sure to have water or snacks as there are none until the end at the campground store. Buy the guide for $1 at the orientation center as you enter. It's definitely worth it. We saw a black bear, deer, and turkeys.

To avoid a long car train, get there early and enjoy it mostly at your own pace. Be the first on the Abram Falls trail and get the falls all to yourself.

This is my favorite place in the park - and that's saying a lot because I love everything about this Park. It's a beautiful, peaceful place. Yes, traffic can be very slow but try to relax and just go with the flow. You have a very good chance of seeing wildlife. We've seen bears, deer, wild turkey, coyotes, fox -... More

Cades Cove is the perfect way to see The Smokys when the life here was hard, yet very accomplishing in every way that is pure. The buildings are the original that housed those that lived in the cove, The churches are still active ( not as parishes ) however, one can rent them for weddings, etc. the interesting aspect of... The drive is worth the trip. But going through the buildings and walking around you get a since of their life back then. This was the first grist mill I've been to that is actually grinding grain. Pretty neat watching the grain being regulated into the grinder. Worth the drive.

Wow. TIPS: Go as close to sunrise as you can. We arrived at 7:30AM on a rainy day. We saw lots of deer and turkey (males on display for females) in the first hour, so get there early if you want to see much. Someone in the gift shop said we were lucky to be there on a rainy day... More

So much to do here! You can drive the loop and you are sure to see so much wildlife from bears, deer, turkey, coyotes, and so much more! Play in the creeks and find crayfish and salamanders. Visit the various cabins and homesteads to learn about life in the Cove. Make sure to bring your camera as there are numerous... More

This was a very cool place because it lets you know what life was really like in the 1800s In the smokey mountains with short stories about some of the people who lived here along with buildings that you can walk, touch and feel. It doesn't hurt either to see some nature along the way, this was my 2nd time... More

Was a very busy spring break day on the road - we liked the road in by the stream much more than the cove area itself
