This is a must see NATIONAL park! Walk in some of the craters, hike, and of course view the eruption if it is active.

Took a tour here to see the volcano. Observation building had good information and a nice view of the inside of the crater with spewing lava. Coming back at night let us see the glow of the lava lake around the spurting lava that I was told would go as high as 100 feet. It's amazing to see something still... More

Even though hiking the 8 mile trail was not an option, we were still able to see many steam vents and the lava in the crater from along the Crater Rim Road. Recommend binoculars and cameras with at least 400mm lens. Park rangers were available with plenty of information.

They have a very informative gift shop and museum. The trails are great and you can see the active lava from the museum! Great place to visit.

The know the volcano is active from the steam and the color of the lava in the crater but from the Jagger Visitor center you really do not get the full impact of how powerful the place is.

From the Jaggar Visitors Center, we could see the lava flowing inside the crater. The day we were there it was raining, but still amazing to stand and watch the lava. The visitors center has good explanations of what is happening to the volcanoes and to the island.

This is literally an out of this world experience. The landscape formed by the volcano makes you feel like you are on another planet, breathtaking views all around. Will go back!
