The Cholla Cactus Garden is so unique. Miles of thus special cacti. The Cactus has a jumping out character, it actually will project out and could hit you.

Great place for photos and to see another perspective of the park. The chollo cactus plants are beautiful in their volume. However please be careful. They look stunning but actively are very dangerous and prone to jump onto your skin They are known for their barbed spikes that tenaciously attach to skin and clothing. I stood too close to one... It will only take you about 30 minutes to stroll though this flat fenced off garden. That is a benefit because there is no protection from the hot desert sun.

Cholla Cactus Garden offers really cool glimpse of desert nature. The cholla cacti look really cool at the sunrise or sunset. Definitely worth a stop.

Went to Joshua National Park at the end of December. There was a little snow on the ground but was wonderful seeing all the Cholla Castus. It wasn't very crowded so we were able to climb on the rocks and take some awesome pictures.

We happened on this cactus garden near sunset and the cacti backlit were beautiful - great for photos. There are trails to walk around - be careful as the spines are dreadful and the cacti fragile. worth 30-60 minutes

This nature walk is in an area where the cacti are uncharacteristically dense. Were were there in February 2017, and could see the effects of the recent years of drought. Most of these cacti have black or dark brown sections, especially at the base of the plant, where they have been stressed and damaged by lack of water. The good... More

We arrived here just prior to sunset and the colours of the cactus were amazing. The trail was good, and short especially as we had walked most of the day on other trails.

Did a lot of researching on how to spend a day in Joshua Tree and everything I read said to check out the Cholla Cactus Garden. The ranger in the visitor's center also recommend it. I personally would not make the same recommendation. It's a bit out of the way and the drive takes you through a less pretty part... More

Well marked area with ample parking and a nice dirt trail/path to stroll among the Cholla Cactus ... What makes it great is that you can get up close and personal with the Fuzzy Bears - BUT not close and personal or you will regret it.
