Best View at the Top. Keep The Momentum Going as you climb higher and higher! My family and I did this trail in July, and let me tell you, it is not easy, but we did it. My mom thought going up was harder, while my dad thought coming down was harder. You will hit snow. We were not prepared... More

This hike is amazing! Tough but definitely worth every bit of the effort. Bring trekking poles, good hiking shoes, layered clothes, sunglasses, lunch, and lots of water! We hiked with a park ranger during the ascent but went our own pace during the descent. Would do this hike again in a heartbeat!

So awesome that it is difficult to describe. Wonderful views from an seaplane or an airplane. Worth the air trip.

This is a must if you are up for a hard, rugged, all day hike. 9 miles round trip, 3500 ft. elevation gain, but you will never regret the time and effort. Had 100% sunshine when there. The ice field is incredible. Unforgettable !!

If you are a hiker and fairly fit, then you must do this hike. It's one of the most spectacular that I have ever done, but you do have to work for the view. There is quite a lot of ascent, but even if you don't get right to the top (which you should it's worth it) there are fine... More

A must do! I move fast. Did the total hike + a lunch at the top in 5 hours, legs burned the next day ;) Have bear spray.

Did this hike by myself and was a little nervous about running into a bear but had my bear spray and bells on my feet. Passed people now and then. Asked the ranger if it was OK to go alone and he acted like it was no big deal so I went ahead and did it. So glad I didn't... More

This is a really stunning hike, particularly for its length. Going from humid forest to black moonscape in four miles was super fun, never mind the spectacular view of the ice field at the end. It does in involve quite a bit of climbing, but if you're fit the Park Service estimation that it will take six to eight hours... More

I need to start with the caveat that we did this hike on what was probably one of the most beautiful days of the year. It was sunny and in the mid-70s for the entire duration of our hike. We were there toward the end of August, and since we started the hike around 8:00 AM crowds were light. We... More

We made it to the end of the trail with our kids ages 6 and 9 who are experienced hikers. Yes, it was a tough climb but the views were unbelievably stunning. We stopped to take hundreds of photos and have snacks and did hike in 6 hours round trip. We saw a herd of mountain goats grazing on the... More
