If you plan on photographing the mountain, go before noon, or soon after Sunrise. Otherwise the slope is in shadow. Went after the center had closed for the season so it was nice and quiet.

Peaceful solitude. My son and I enjoyed this hike down to this little lake. We enjoyed a small picnic lunch here the other afternoon and range around the lake a bit before hiking back up. Met up with two rangers coming from the opposite direction....More

I wish they had had signs telling us not to stray off the paths adjoining the visitors center rather than the rangers yelling at us to stop killing the flowers Honestly all we were doing was trying to take a picture of the mountain peak...More

At the end of the Sunrise Road is the Sunrise Visitor Center. It’s an interesting set of buildings at the top of the ridge. The Center and two accompanying buildings are built to look like a log fort. I’m sure there’s a story there. Inside...More

As long as the mountain is out. Or the clouds will give you a chance to see through them. Plenty of short day hikes to enjoy the views!

Call the park at 1-360-569-2211 for additional info, but have been able to get in at 5am, booth was not manned at Ranger Station at this time

We did not see any dogs except for one but it was assisting a person with limited abilities.
