Basic but good campground.

A lovely campground but basic. We were travelling in an RV. The camp sites do not offer any facilities. There are communal showers and toilets, all clean & tidy. All sites are... read more

At the Ohanapecosh visitor center we visited it and walked around for a quick sec. The ranger there was very knowledgable and there was tons of history on the location and the park itself. There we hiked the Silver falls trail to silver falls. It's pretty nice and a short hike along a dirt path. Along the way there is... More

We love our National Parks and travel to them to hike throughout the USA. This visitor center was really small , which is not a huge deal but a very outdated format. They have a very small gift center ( smallest I have seen). The bathrooms were typical campground bathrooms but not up to par with visitor center restrooms. Rangers... More

City people need better signs. I loved the path but It was not well signed posted. Not sure if I saw the hot springs or not. I saw water but not sure they were the hot springs. The visitor center is inside the entrance to the campground . This visitor center is only open summer. We saw 2 little kids... More

Stopped to get information before continuing around the park road. It has a great interpretive center and provides background information for the area.

The main reason for stopping at a ranger station is to get trail onformation. Sure there a a couple of displays and tiny gift shop but don't stop here for that. The young ranger who was there 2 days in a row had poor people skills and also admitted she knew nothing about the trails in the park. We asked... More

Rangers that staff the visitors center are nice. A very small selection of souvenirs available. The part I liked the most was the 3-D topographical map of Mount Rainier National Park with many of the trails. There are displays of local wildlife as well.

A lovely campground but basic. We were travelling in an RV. The camp sites do not offer any facilities. There are communal showers and toilets, all clean & tidy. All sites are well treed, have a firebox and bench table. Some overlook the river. Access to some good walking trails.

Perfect for pull-up camping with plenty of options to explore around. We were here during the summer and it was a beautiful trip. The facilities are clean, plenty of things to explore.

The Ohanapecosh visitor center is located just inside the entrance of the Ohanapecosh campground about 3 miles (4.8k) north of the southeast entrance to the park on Hwy 123 or 42 miles (68k) east of the main park entrance, the Nisqually Entrance. This visitor center is only open between June and early October with very limited hours; the main purpose... More

This is a nice visitor center to pair with the silver falls hike that is accessed here. Lots of information on the local wildlife and flora. Our daughter really got a kick out of it.
